I have friends who already know that they are going to be my bridesmaids. I still want to ask them in a nice, special way though. How should I ask them???

I gave all of mine bright pink roses. I have two MOHs, and one lives in another city, so I sent both of them a bouquet of bright pink roses, then for my BMs I met with them one on one either at coffee or happy hour and brought them each small short stems of bright pink roses in a small bowl vase, and for my house party I gave each of them a single bright pink rose in a small bud vase. With each of them I gave them a note telling them how much they meant to me, and that I would be honored if they wanted to be X position for my wedding. I felt like I was proposing and they all loved it.

I am a very straightforward, no-nonsense type of person, so I just asked all my BMs to be BMs.

Actually, I think I told my MOH that she was my MOH lol. Like she had a choice!

I sent all my girls invites to my house for dinner.

When they got there I had made a cake that said " Will you be my BM?"

For my MOH- I made her a scrapbook- the last page had all kinds of wedding stuff on it and had a picture of her and under it said " Maid Of Honor"

She cried for and told me it was her most cherished possesion. :)

i sent out a card that i made. on the outside it was a poem. the bridesmaid one was different than my MOH one. The last line of the poem was asking them. on the inside of the card listed contact info and such. i listed the hostess, and other bridesmaid contact info. and i listed the date, time and location of the wedding rehearsal and wedding ceremony so that they could schedule it with work (they live out of town/state).

I have a description of what I did under My Maids on my blog.

Basically, invited them over for drinks and dessert at my house (not an unusual thing for me to do), and made a 3 layer card, with poem on top layer, handwritten letter on middle layer, and last layer said will you honor me on my wedding day by standing next to me as my ____.

I took them to happy hour. We had a blast!
I also presented them a mini-rosebush in a steel pot (from Trader Joes), along with a retro postcard that featured funny "gal" trivia on it ("the average woman eats x pounds of lipstick in her lifetime")

I got my MOH a frosted hurricane with a pink candle, a card and framed a picture of us. She was to meet me a little early before a dinner that I setup to ask my BMs. I placed everything on my coffee table and when she arrived, she saw it and started to read the card. At the end of the card, it read, "Will you be my MOH?" She loved everything and said yes. Then we went out to dinner with my BMs and I asked them after dinner.

Me too. I didn''t even think to do anything special until I saw cards and other things that other brides were doing. It would''ve been fun, but it wouldn''t had matter to my BMs anyways because they were so excited that they were asked.

I was so excited that I just asked them over the phone... most of them knew already anyway... I was always a tad regretful I didn''t do anything super special, but oh well!

I''m only having a MOH, I asked her as we were walking out of Chili''s. She''s an emotional person and her husband recently knocked her up so she''s even more emotional. I didn''t want this to be an cry feast, so I tried to make it as impersonable as possible. DIDN"T WORK! She cried, which made me cry....

She said yes though.

I asked them all either in person or over e-mail, but I also bought cards from JeanM. that say will you be my bridesmaid. They are really cute!

I made will you be my bridesmaid cards from things from the scrapbook store (dresses and dice). There are pictures in my knot bio. I gave my MOH hers on our way to my first dress shop, and gave the other one in person, my final bridesmaid lives out of state and I mailed it to her! They seemed to really appreciate the effort.
