How did you come to find the LIWs?

I know this thread already exists in the Diamond Hangout forum somewhere, but since we have all these new LIWs, I thought I''d ask, how did you stumble across Pricescope, or more specifically, the LIWs?


More than a year ago I Googled, What the hell is wrong with my boyfriend - why won''t he propose?

I''m similar to you Starset- I googled the words "deadline, propose, boyfriend" and it brought up a thread from 2004 about the woman giving her man a deadline.

I found this site through searching engagement rings online. I don''t remember what I googled in but something about diamonds and this site popped up. I started looking around and stumbled across LIW and realized I finally found a place I could belong too!
It was like coming home LOL!!!

I found this site while searching for rings. More specifically, I wanted to know the difference between channel set and pave set, so I googled ''Pave set rings vs channel set rings'' and it brought up Laney''s (I think) fabulous ring.

I googled for e Rings and this is one of the sites I found. I think I stumbled into the forums by mistake - and now I am stuck!! HA!

My story is similar to Starset Princess and nytemist. He was driving me insane with his mixed signals and I was wondering if I should propose to him. I googled "Should I propose to my boyfriend?" and I came across a thread here about a girl asking the same thing.

At first I hadn''t realised it was a diamond site, and after a browsing I thought everyone here was insane, spending thousands of dollars on engagement rings!! But I''ve been bitten by the bug since then...

Pre-PS (yes, that was an era of my life), I would have been horrified at the thought of him spending 2k on my ring, now I''m very pleased with this budget!!

I found a different diamond forum while searching for e-rings and they kept referring to "PS".. I didn''t know what it was, so I looked it up and TA DA.. PS=PRICESCOPE.. I''ve been here ever since.

I found the LIW site when people would refer to LIW in the Diamond Hangout and Rocky Talky sections and I didn''t know what it was (I guess the same thing as what happened before with PS) I looked around on the site and found it.

My story is similar to Kalispera''s. I was looking for a tacori immitation since that was completly out of my b/f budget. Then came across people refering to PS and LIW and here i am

I googled Niwaka for e-rings and came up with PS. But didn''t notice the LIW''s until about a month later when I was feeling very confused, anxious, and seriously obsessed.
I was soooo relieved that I wasn''t the only one with these feelings. It has made me feel a lot better about both my situation and the fact that I''m obsessing over the ring. The single greatest insight I learned from you wonderful LIW''s is "Boy Soon".

Beanie, my story is similar to yours. After asked to get an idea of what type of ring I like, I found this through yahoo or google searching for rings. Initially, I searched around a bit and got info. Then, I stayed off the site for awhile, trying not to give in to my obsession. Finally, I came back to the site, read the forums a bit more and finally.......became a member. It''s been great ever since!! It really does make me feel better knowing it''s not just me. Now, if only I could get some work done!

I found the site by digging around Yahoo, because I decided that I was going to find myself a nice ring (that I could show the BF), somehow found the Picture Gallery, and was caught. I lurked for months, and now, here I am. STILL waiting for the freakin'' ring. And now I know enough to know TOO much.

Ha ha ha...me too!!! That is the first thing I remember reading on the LIW board. I think that''s what sucked me in...was the feeling that other people were going through boy-soon vs. girl-soon...

I too thought I was the only one who googled "Why won''t my boyfriend propose?" And I did endless searches for e-rings. I did searches on Robbins Bros, but man was that boring!! I think I actually found PS by searching for more technical information on diamonds. And the info here in fabulous! I''ve been hooked practically 24/7 ever since

Now if someone can only tell me how they got away from PS to actually get some work done!!

I googled "cushion cut diamond" after trying one on in a store for the first time, and came across SMTR! I looked at those pictures for a bit and came back to them every so often to gaze some more (I''d never heard of/seen cushions before then) and was vaguely aware that there were forums on the site too, but thought they were boring and stupid.

Needless to say, once I actually started READING a few threads, I lurked avidly for a couple months before getting up the nerve to join! And the LIWs really are the best community ever!!! Please don''t make me leave just because I got engaged...

And now whenever I''m sitting on the couch with my computer and don''t talk for more than 10 seconds at a time, my fiance says, "pricescope?"

I think I was an "Asscher" google-er. When I started researching e-rings ... I knew I wanted to research that cut first. I didn''t start following the LIW threads until much later & months of lurking. Luckily my FI & I were always pretty open about the idea of engagement & there wasn''t a lot of wondering/suspense/drama. Now that I''ve seen so much LIW action I''ve realized it''s pretty rare that people are on the same page at the same time so I''m very grateful!!

I honestly don''t have a clue how I found this site. It was like devine intervention though! Long story short, i thought that I had "proposalitis" or some other medical condition that caused me to be absolutely obsessed with getting engaged. Everyone around me has seemed to recently get their ring while my finger was left naked. And, my single friends couldn''t sympathize with me because "at least I had a BF." I thought that I was the only one! Thank God I found this site- I now know that I''m quite normal. I''m no longer quite as obsessed with getting engaged but I am totally obsessed with PS!
