I'm curious what the circumstances were for how/when/why you found our precious (heh) community!

I found Pricescope around June of last year because the "E" word started creeping into conversations with FH and I started googling diamonds

Tell us how you came to be a PSer!

I was searching for pictures of a Tiffany Lucida and I came across here. I thought it was a gothic site due to the spider web in the corner so I ignored it for a while and then I came back and looked at it properly and was hooked!

I was looking for wedding rings, and how to get my engagement ring repaired (long story) and I came across PS. I didn''t want to join at first, because there are some mean people on other forums (the girls on theknot.com forums were less than kind), but after reading for a while, I saw what an encouraging community this is and decided to join. I''m still a newbie!

Why IS there a spider web on this site anyways? I don't get it and it's been driving me crazy wondering what the connection is!

I''m not sure and then I''ve been looking at it doing is it definitely a spiders web

but it looks just like one!

The middle looks like a diamond...

We were kicked off of "they who shall not be mentioned" for speaking the truth in defense of one of our competitors who was also guilty of speaking the truth... Leonid took note of "the others" bad behavior and invited us into the world of PS. It wasn''t long before a few of our other competitors were also kicked off "that other place" for defending our honor (read: Tea Party 101, none of us are good at holding our tongues) and they too came to PS - some survived, some did not, but it''s always fun

If you look in the center, it looks like a diamond...I always assumed it was symbolic for "Diamonds on the Web" or something like that

I found PS because I was googling a specific Ritani setting I liked to see whether it was good quality, and a thread popped up in my search results. I lurked on and off until I caught a bad case of LIWitis, and realized that the forum was just what the doctor ordered!

That so makes sense

I came across it when doing asscher research for my e-ring, but only read a few posts--I don''t think I realized it was an online community. It wasn''t until after we got engaged and I had buyer''s remorse (for DH''s sake) that I really started to read more--I wanted to make sure he got the most bang for his buck. For some reason I was intimidated at first because I''m not a "blingy" kind of gal, but when I realized how much education I could get--which is what I wanted--I was hooked. The people here are extremely knowledgeable and very helpful, which I really appreciate.

The original PSers actually have a pin with the pricescope "logo" on it--it''s a small diamond with a web around it and I love that they got it as a little gift. I saw aljdewey''s at the Boston GTG.

I was searching for custom rings...And I came across here with somebody's journal about Mark Morrell, a diamond he got from somewhere else, and the design from his grandmother's ring.
Also when I googled anything about diamonds, there was a result from pricescope!

"Diamond on the Web"!!!! Thank you!!! My mind is at peace.

Yep, I was one of those who was kicked of that other board and came over here. The reason diamonds on the internet became of interest was because I had just purchased my first set of diamond studs and wanted to read more on diamond quality. I''ve stayed ever since even though I rarely make purchases.

Google! I had started thinking BF may be "it" for me so I was daydreaming about rings. I was the same as Bee*! I was weirded out by the home page but I kept getting back here, and finally I figured out how it works and was hooked.

I was upgrading and decided to search some stuff out. That was a couple years ago and I have stayed around ever since!

I was searching for info on my Nana's ring and found *the other forum* first. Got sucked in looking at all the purty pictures and then started to wonder about this other forum (here) they were, em, discussing. Took a peep over here and couldn't stop reading! I lurked for months and months and months before Deco's honeymoon thread spurred me to de-lurk. Then a few months after that (with BF's encouragement, ha ha!) I started posting on the LIW forum. I am now officially addicted

What kept me coming back was the supportiveness and just the smartness of the community on here. I can't stand snarky forums where nasty people monopolise, or where entire conversations are conducted in text speak. The Irish wedding forums are seriously scary places, I saw just one thread on an Irish wedding forum that was enough to turn me off that place for life.

Oh, and, diamonds on the web? I feel sooooooooo stupid now......
3.gif
I've been wondering about that for the last year!

I found it by googling for engagement ring settings... I also saw the diamond web thing; after my initial

I thought, "Oh, okay. Clever." I was really amazed at the knowledgeable info and support (read: enabling) found here... been here ever since and LOVE it.

(so glad I didn''t have to get here via the other site)

The spiderweb/diamond design thing does have to do with "diamonds on the web." There used to be some info on a thread in Who''s who I think...one of the longer-time members will maybe chime in and explain it. I think there also used to be a brooch someone here or related to PS designed that looked like the logo itself with a diamond in the middle...maybe before the days of the $1000 for 10k posts?

I stumbled upon PS a few years ago when I was looking to see how demographics related to center stone size.

Just being totally vain and wondering what the general carat weight was for different regions in the US, I suppose trying to stroke my own ego. I''ve learned so much here and haven''t left since then, from day one I was completely hooked.

Searching for engagement ring I came across the LIW forum once and looked at it at face value and left thats all I thought this forum was about, I checked back a few times and noticed there were other forums and slowly but surely I found myself addicted and realised all that I thought I knew about diamonds was less then a drop in a massive ocean :).

I am so glad I found this place not only are the people great you learn so much :)

Have you ever been on weddingsonline.ie?

I found PS when I was searching diamond information for my BIL. I lurked for a while, and posted a bit here and there. I started posting more when I purchased my first ACA. I''ve been pretty regular over the last several months, and bought a WF bangle, returned it and then had a WF 5 stone band made.

That''s my PS story.

I think I yahoo-ed something about diamonds and this came up. To be honest I''ve been lurking for so long that I can''t even remember where I came across PS. But I''m addicted!!

I was doing research on a possible upgrade (which is finally coming to fruition now -- or more specifically will be in my hands next week!). In the meantime, I've purchased a pair of studs, and helped a close friend and my sister buy some studs as well. I don't post too, too frequently, but I lurk multiple times a day. I also love doing random searches and reading old threads. There's just so much info here! Love it.

I was doing a project on Grace Kelly and I was searching for pictures from her wedding.. Lo and behold I found the best forum ever!

I discovered PS when my now DH and I first started looking at engagement rings. I was interested in learning more about quality diamonds. I thought that my obsession would end after he bought the ring, but I was very wrong. I am still not a regular poster, but I have been a lurker for quite some time

I tried using google to find this setting or something like it that I saw at the jewelry store that my friend worked (I just thought it was the best thing ever.) And then I came across a lovely pink sapphire ring in the Colored Stones Forum and at first I just kept coming back to that. It took me a little while to branch out to the other forums and now I''m in love with almost everything in the SMTR. I tried getting my friends to look at the lovely pieces here but they weren''t interested. So now I''m stuck looking at diamonds until I have my own...so I guess I''ll be seeing you ladies for the next few years.

That''s funny. I think I posted some of them here. But maybe not. Maybe I just posted Jackie Kennedy''s. I may have to go back and look!

I found PS awhile back when I was looking for a new setting for my then princess ER. I''ve been here ever since!

I think I went to that other site too, and someone mentioned Pricescope. I think I had seen PS when I was googling diamonds so searched it out and never left!

I was jonesing for some pictures of Royal Asschers after I had seen one in real life, and this crazy website with a spiderweb kept coming up. It took me a while to actually look around, and then I lurked for a LONG time! I only came out of hiding when we started discussing our engagement, and I''ve been hooked since.
