How do you remain patient?

I started looking in December at diamonds and didn't find my perfect diamond until February but remember don't settle

I hope you contact Brian and Victor for a comparison, their stones are very similar.

You shouldn't notice any colour side on with a G. If you held up an I you might, a J you probably would but you shouldn't notice any major weird tints with a G.

If it helps any, I have a G SI1 in the fishtail pave from BGD. I have had an E, and I can NOT see any tint in the G, even from the side. I am extremely color sensitive and could even go lower. If you don't keep it clean, it can look grimy, but otherwise, it's beautiful. Also, I like a few tiny visible inclusions from the side, just so I can easily tell the stone is mine. However, with this stone, I can't find them with the naked eye no matter how long and hard I look. They might just not want to commit to def. eye clean because everyone is different.

I sent an email over to Victor this evening. I would like to get a comparison.

I've tried to get a general consensus on prices for Victor's settings, but not much so we will see. How is his melee stones? I know BGD have received great reviews.

As dead set on BGD I was/am I think it is important to look into price as well. So a second quote will be helpful. It seems the BGD and Victor diamonds are priced similarly.

The melee are gorgeous, super sparkly, and I've had no issue with them falling out.

Hi Jess719,

That is an amazing set! Exactly what I was thinking when I began my quest a plain wedding band and the pave setting. Do you really enjoy your setting?

I think it is wonderful. If you don't mind me asking, please don't feel like you have to respond, what size is your diamond? It looks amazing.

This is the first set like this I have seen and I have spent a lot of time looking. I can't believed I missed it.

Thank you again, everyone! It is greatly appreciated!

Just wanted to add my 2 cents! I have purchased from both vendors in the past (I have a BGD H & A MRB and set it in a Victor Canera Gabriella solitaire setting) and can recommend both to you.

FYI--there is a PS discount for BGD stones so if you go w/ them, please make sure to ask for it!

I have had pieces made by both, Victor uses H & A top cut white coloured melee, he is more expensive because he hand makes everything Brian's items are cast. I like Victor's pave better but that is personal preference. I own this halo setting with a different diamond now in it;

I think Victor's stones are marginally cheaper for the same product, you will not go wrong with either. Mention you are a P/S member to both, it never hurts to ask for the best possible price.

Also, BGD has a great upgrade and buy back policy. Make sure you ask any other vendor what their upgrade policy and buy back policy are.

I too started looking in December and didn't land on a diamond until just last week. Like you I spent many unhealthy hours day and night scouring these boards to learn everything I could from the experts here. I was originally looking for a G SI1 diamond, but upgraded to an F VS2 for a lot of the same reasons you have (wanted better color from the side, and eye clean from every angle).

Once I finally got my diamond last week, the first thing I thought to myself was "wow this is really tiny!" With all the really close up high-resolution photos that vendors are providing, it's easy for us as customers to become really picky about slight color tints or inclusions. But after seeing my diamond in real life, I must agree with the experts here that a G color eye clean SI1 diamond is probably the best value. Any one grade color or clarity difference will be nearly impossible to distinguish in my opinion.

I asked many questions to the vendors I was checking. No matter what your budget, it's your own hard earned money so you shouldn't feel like you can't ask too many questions. If a vendor doesn't want to respond to your inquiries then that's their lost business. One question you may want to ask is what color are the inclusions? Like someone else said, white and clear inclusions you won't see. I was told that the diamond I chose had white and light grey inclusions, but after seeing the diamond up close myself, I can't see them at all.

Hi creepin,

It's no problem! I loooove my set. It's incredibly comfortable and sparkles like crazy. An extra bonus is I don't have to get another band if we are traveling, or I don't want to wear diamonds (think Play-Doh  ) AND it's a built in spacer for an anniversary ring :naughty: .

It's a great idea to shop around for price! There are many Pricescope recommended vendors that have gorgeous diamonds and beautiful rings.

As for my set, it's a 1.34 G SI1 on a size 5.5 finger. Here is a more accurate real life size. I was just trying to show color before.

Hi Showbiz,

Thank you for sharing your experience. It is great to hear everyone's thoughts. I do think it my hard earned money and if a vendor does not want to answer I should look elsewhere. So far BGD, has been very good, but I feel like I'm annoying them. However, it is a lot of money so I think I need to forget being annoying and do my due diligence.

I gave up on an SI1 when talking with Denise, but I think I may open the VS2 and SI1 back open. If the SI1 inclusions are eye-clean and do not affect performance I would love to save the extra money.

Thank you all again!

I really think your set is very nice. It is kind of what I have decided on. 1.34 is gorgeous.

Thank you very much for taking the time to post some pictures of your setting. I've done my best to look here on price scope for this exact setting, or at least the 6 prong tiffany from angles to get a better idea. The glamour pictures online makes everything look very nice. So real-life photos help a lot. The first one posted the setting (from the side) looks a lot different than I had thought for some reason, but from every other angle it is stunning.

I might broaden my search, but mentioned the Pave on the BGD sparkles very well. Which is very important, to me.

I was split between the solitaire and Pave. I think Victor's Gabriella 6 prong solitaire is very, very nice as well. However, I think the Pave would be more welcomed and the added "bling" I think she will like more. I have a price request in with victor, but I think the hand forged will be out of the price range and not as appreciated as a pave, even though the it is handmade.
