I have been married from over three years and I really want an upgrade...do you think that is long enough. I do, just tell my hubby that...

Almost 11.5 years! But I put it off for vacations, new vehicles, etc...

It was 12 years before I got my first upgrade and 15 for the second and last!!!

9 years and 3 months for my engagement ring and then another 3 months before I decided I needed to upgrade to a larger stone.

We were married almost 10 years when I got my upgrade. We bought it for the purpose of a 10-year anniversary gift, but I got it 3 months early.

I had just a wedding band when we married as poor college students. At one year we added a diamond engagement ring. Then I had that diamond put in a nicer setting at 15 years. The diamond got bigger at 19 years. This year I got a whole new ring at 28 years and reset the old diamond in a new right hand ring. There are no rules on this upgrade thing.

I think my folks were in 5 year increments where my mom got something altered or whatever. Then at 20 they did a big ring guard around her solitaire which she still wears part of. At 25 they did whole new rings. Her's is a HONKER. 25 stones total, including the center marquis. At 30 (this year) they went to Hawaii and he just bought her other stuff to wear. I think she's done for her wedding/ering now.

5 years but by the time i actually receive it, it could end up being longer.
i found this site looking to upgrade my setting and it turned into a new setting plus a new diamond

I was married 3 years before I had my first upgrade, which was still comparatively small, but a good diamond. Upgrading isn't usually done here in the UK and my madness started seeing a huge RB on an older Australian aquaintance when I was a young bride, it must have been 3 carats and I was hooked! I had always loved diamonds but never thought ordinary folk could have a large one, that was the beginning of my obsession! There are no hard and fast rules here, but many wait until they have been married for a few years for a major anniversary or other special occasion, however it is an individual thing and there are no right or wrongs, if you want an upgrade, I hope you can get one as I did!

Well I don''t count, but mine was 3 months! I broke my diamond (center stone) - and when we got the check from the insurnce we put some money toward an upgrade at that point... (he said it will have to last me a few years...)

Thanks for your imput....we will see I want this ring to be the last or until when our future kids are grown(whatever that means...hehe). So I was hoping that in the next couple of months he could get on here and start looking so ladies look out for him ane help him pick out something nice for me. Our budget won''tbe large, but this will be my memoery ring I think, because I picked out the last one and he was really mad about that. Anyways keepposting...

I wore my e-ring for 3 years before we got married, then upgraded for our 5th wedding anniversary. So I guess about 8 years total. :)

I was married 10 years when I first upgraded my e-ring. When I upgraded my stone in 1989, almost no one I knew had ever upgraded or changed their e-ring.

After 19 years, I had a new setting made for my e-ring stone and the stones from two anniversary bands.

At 25 years, I got a new ring for our anniversary and also upgraded the stone in my e-ring...same size but better cut and color.

Twenty seven years. I was very happy with what I had and then suddenly I just fancied a bigger diamond. I didn''t even think of it as an ering upgrade, I just fancied a ring with a big diamond in it.

I do wear my big diamond ring as an ering from time to time, but then I''ve worn other rings (coloured gemstone set ones) instead of my original ering over the years anyway. I''m very free and easy with my jewellery and swap rings around as the mood takes me.

First upgradt at 7th wedding anniversary. Second upgrade at 17th wedding anniversary.

I''m bad...first upgrade was on our 1st anniversary and 2nd upgrade was March this year, before our 5th anniversary in December. But, I still have all my 3 rings...

Married? Who needs to be married to ask for an upgrade?
