Hi everyone,

I''m new here, and I''ve been shopping around for an engagement ring for my gf of 19 months. Everyone''s been great, so thank you all for that!

I''m just curious as to how long everyone here waited between the time they got engaged, and the time they actually got married?

Cheers!
Eban

Hey there and welcome to Pricescope!

Well, my husband and I eloped, so we were engaged about 4 weeks before we got married. It was awesome and perfect because I never wanted a big foofy wedding and all that stuff - so it worked out great for us. We''ve been married almost 3 years now and I love every minute of it! Ok, ok....not EVERY minute!

We got engaged around Christmas and were married in September. So 9 months, and will be married 20 years this September.

That''s awesome kaleigh, congratulations!

Cheers,
Eban

He proposed in mid-Sept 2005, and we''ll be getting married likely in Sept 2007, so exactly 2 years for us. This coming summer just isn''t feasible as I have my board exams coming up! So my school schedule really put us at 2 years, which is fine! More time to enjoy the planning

We met, got engaged 7 months later, got married 11 months after that, been married 2+ years already. Kaleigh, any words of wisdom on 20 years?

First date was July 4, 2004, engaged on July 26, 2005 and married on November 1, 2005. It''s been a great year and a half

We met June 8, 1990, got engaged on April 18, 1991, and tied the knot November 23 of that same year. Two houses, 4 cats, 8 automobiles and 3 precious children later we celebrated our 14th anniversary!!

Too long! haha! He proposed may 27th, 2005, we are getting married aug. 12th, 2006. We both have siblings in college and wanted a warm weather wedding (it is in WI after all) so a summer wedding just made sense and there was no way I was going to have a two month engagement.

I am planning it from NC so it just would have been too hard.

13 months exactly

Engaged July 18, 2004, married October 15, 2005, so about 15 months! and it went by QUICK!

Met January 8. Engaged January 19. Married March 26. The year was 1977. This March (3 months and 23 days from now) will be 28 years.

Engaged April 4, 2003..... at Sharp Memorial Hospital in San Diego.. there was my fiancee... in his hospital gown, holding his iv pole and down on one knee... I missed the proposal completely.... so he had to repeat it. He proposed with a straw from his dinner tray he went into the restroom and made me a ''ring'' with it.... I still have the straw.

Adorable engagement story! My father proposed to my mother with a cigar band "engagement ring!"

Fire Goddess, how sweet was your fall wedding?!

We were SO SLOW, but that''s cuz we were so young. We started dating junior year in high school (spring 1996), got engaged junior year of college (spring 2000), and got married the summer after my second year of law school (summer 2003). So just over 3 years between engagement and marriage. We planned on getting married since high school, but we just wanted to give ourselves lots and lots of time to get to know each other really well and grow up some. Thank goodness!

We''re getting engaged sometime in the next THREE WEEKS

, and getting married in June 2007, so right at 1.5 years. Due to logistical issues with the house we''re getting married in, we can only get married in either June or September of whatever year we choose. I was lobbying for June 2006 even though that''s a sort of short engagement (esp. since we would be planning everything long distance, and the house is closed through the winter until late May), but now one of my best friends AND my brother are getting married next June, and my boyfriend thinks a fall wedding would be depressing (????) so we''ve bumped it to June 2007. C''est la vie!

Engaged in April, 2005 getting married in February, 2006. Just under 10 months. And it''s right around the corner!!!

I wasn''t sure which answer to click on.......?!? I could answer both ways 5-7 or 7-9.

To keep my answer short... 7 months!

I''m hoping only 11 months but it could be extended a few months...depending on how many people pony up some cash.

Our first date was on August 22, 2001, engaged on April 16, 2004, and married on August 22, 2004. Our engagement was just over four months long.
