I''m wondering how many of you are going to wear necklaces and earrings or just earrings on your wedding day. I''ve seen a LOT of photos of women wearing just earrings. Because I have so many tattoos on my arms and chest area I''m thinking no necklace is probably the way to go.

Picking the earrings is going to be hard too though. Does anyone have any suggestions of places to look for earrings??

I wore both but kept it very simple--a single pearl drop necklace and a pair of crystal earrings with a single pearl (usually i am a one or the other gal and don''t like the look of too much jewelry)

A lot depends on the bodice/neckline of your dress. Is it full of beads/embroidery? If yes I would say skip the necklace, if no, you can add some more adornment.

Also, do you have anything in your hair on your wrist or on your veil. IMO they count as jewelry as well?

i''m just wearing earrings. i don''t really wear necklaces that much and i think i like the look of a bare neck?

but there are some gorgeous necklaces out there! think it just depends on your dress and what kind of look you are going for.

I don''t have a dress picked yet but so far I am thinking that I will probably wear a simple necklace and earrings. I think it depends on what your dress is like as to whether a necklace is worn or not.

earrings, bright shoes, and bright nails.

I totally agree with Bee. It really depends on your dress. I got very dramatic jewelry (necklace and earrings) BUT my dress doesn''t have a single bead/rhinestone/pearl, no lace and I''m not wearing a tiara or any hair jewelry so it works and is a great compliment. I actually needed something that dramatic w/ jewelry or I think I would have been a little on the plain side. But if my dress did have something on it AND I wore my jewelry.... I think I''d look like a cheap hooker.
Do you have a picture of you in your dress?

Depending on your price range....

www.emitations.com has cute CUTE chandelier earrings but they tend to be in the $50 range, too much for me!

www.sammoon.com (or if you live near Dallas, go to the shop, it's as big as a Walmart, full of great costume jewelry) has lots and lots of cute earrings but much less expensive

For example, these are only $6, but I saw them in real life and they're cute!

Here''s the link to my dress:

I may do something in my hair and have nice earrings. I''m just thinking no necklace. Also I''m totally lost on what kind of earrings to do, maybe something with pearl in them? No bracelets or anything either.

I bought a cameo pendant to wear with my dress, with intentions of wearing a simple stud earring. I''m concerned about the pendant matching, however, so I''m waiting until my dress arrives to decide further. I HAVE been eyeing these satin teardrop earrings, though--

viiolet, I think for you, I would do just earrings and no necklace. If it were for me, I would do a both.

i didn''t do a necklace and i would have been sans bracelet had dh not bought me one for a wedding gift. and in fact i didn''t wear the bracelet during the ceremony, only during the reception. my dress had enough bling going on so i wore pearl studs during the ceremony and changed them to blingy chandeliers for the reception and i had blingy hair pins as well.

oh, and as far as places to look, i found my hanging earrings at banana repubic. they currently have a few pairs on sale right now too.
check nordstroms too that had a good selection. and check other dept. stores as well.

I saw some gorgeous earrings at Macy''s recently but I''m not sure what will work yet. I was going to have my mom''s ring re-made into earrings but that''s tough because i only have six small diamonds to work with and I don''t want to spend a ton of money to get earrings that are only good for a wedding and not flexible. Tough decisions.

I think if I go no necklace that means bridesmaids no necklace.

JCrow do you have a link to your wedding photos?

I like the rule of 2. I wore earrings and a bracelet. I think when all 3 are worn it can be a bit much unless the earrings are studs.

I love necklaces, so I will definitely be wearing one even though my dress is pretty ornate on top! I''m also wearing earrings, but nothing else, and both the necklace and earrings are pretty understated.

At this point, I''m planning to wear a necklace and NO earrings. The necklace is simple (a larger plain gold locket). Probably no bracelet either.

I think that necklace AND earrings can work either if the earrings are studs OR only one piece has stones. Plain metal necklace with gemstone/diamond earrings or vice versa.

Oh, one thing that was once suggested to me is to go buy a top that mimics the look and color of your dress''s neckline. Then go try stuff on and see what you like with it

WOW, I just noticed how old this thread was! Don''t know how I wandered in here

It really depends on your dress I think. I ended up wearing no necklace and diamond studs with my South Seas drop pearls. My earrings made enough of a statement that a necklace would have been too much. If you wear a necklace, usually stud earrings look best so there isn''t too much going on with the bling.

Violet, I think that the no necklace may work best. Dramatic earrings and a bracelet. With your tattoos, which I would love to see up close, I think that a necklace may be too much going on.

I''m going for both necklace and earrings.

The necklace will be a string of pearls - and hopeful a 4ct sphene pendant that fits over them.

Earrings will be 2tcw round sphene studs with - if I can work out a way to do it - teardrop shaped pearls underneath.

I want to wear the studs on their own later and also the pendant as a stand alone piece, so I need to find ways of attaching the pearls to the earrings and the pendant to the pearls in a secure but temporary way.

My dress has pearls along the whole of the bodice edge which I am colour matching to my necklace.

I think wedding jewellery has a lot to do with the dress and whether you want a modern or classic look.

Hmm I am doing just earrings. I was thinking about wearing some diamond ones (thought that could be FI''s gift to me) or I could borrow them from my Mom. My dress has too much detail for a necklace, I think. I think it''d be overkill. For crystals I would recommend Nordstrom, they have some great costume jewelry! I think Nadri is the brand I really like. Also, WhiteIsle.com has some pretty stuff, but I don''t know how the quality is. I just ordered something from them, so I''ll know soon.

After seeing Katherine McPhee''s awesome wedding in People Magazine last week I decided to go chandelier earrings instead. Hers were from Neil Lane. Gorgeous!

Then Nordstrom definitely has some nice Chandeliers! For under $100.

Oh I''ve been struggling with this too! I definitely want bold earrings. But I''m not sure what to do about bracelet vs. necklace. I was thinking of a Diamonds By the Yard style necklace. But I also saw a photo of a bride wearing bracelets that I thought were so graceful looking. Hmmm...decisions decisions.

Hi violet! I would venture to suggest no necklace, but I think it really depends on how you feel with the dress on with any other jewelry you choose (I think chandelier earrings sound lovely, by the way!), but I remember thinking the dress you chose complimented your tattoos, not competed with them, so a necklace might just be a bit too much. You just never know till you try, though!

I am trying to figure this situation out for myself, too, now that I have finally chosen a dress...I *think* I definitely want to do green amethyst earrings and a bracelet, but am hesitating about a necklace, even though THAT''S the one beautiful piece of green amethyst jewelry I found on a lark and I already have in my possession! Go figure! I think the neckline of my dress is really open and the dress itself is very minimally decorated, so it may work...I just don''t know! Ugh!

I can''t wait to see what you end up doing...you''re going to be a smashing bride in that gorgeous dress!
