how much did you spend on flowers/invitations

i''m working on my wedding budget and wanted to get a rough estimate on what to expect to spend for flowers (10-15 centerpieces, petals, bouquets) and invitations for 250 people?

bouquet? Roughly 200 dollars. MY Centerpieces are Roughly 100 dollars each. Bridesmaid's bouquet roughly 60 dollars. Grooms boutineer roughly 20 dollars. Grooms men boutineers 15 each. Corsages for women: roughly 25-30 dollars each.

For 80 person wedding my flowers are costing about 1,500.

As for invitations: INCLUDING shiping, I'm paying about 4.00 each.

It varies dramatically. You can make gorgeous centerpieces for $30. Or $200. But I guess $100 is a good median. My bouquet will cost $250 (that cost is mostly paying for the design expertise and complicated labour, not for the flowers), but my arrangements will only be $15 - $45 each. The thing with flowers is, start with a budget, find something that fits it, not necessarily the other way around.

As for invitations, if you DIY, you can get gorgeous ones for $3-4 each incl rsvp''s and shipping (check out invitesite.com... I got mine there and nearly EVERY guest has complimented them... and these are ''classy'' people). If you order the same quality from a company, it will run about $10 per invitaiton.

Oh yeah, and don''t forget the stamps. Count on 60 cents each within the US to take into account the rate hike (we paid 58c for heavy-ish envelopes within the US, $1.80 for those mailed abroad).

And the thank you cards. You can get nice ones for about $1 each (plus stamp). But that adds an extra $355 to the budget.

I haven''t got a quote yet, but I imagine for me, MOH, groom, best man (no bridesmaids/groomsmen), parents, 10-12 centerpieces, and 2 sprays for the church, i think the total should be around $800 (that includes the discount).

I''m making my own invites, about $2 each, plus the cost of postage (for about 70)

I'm planning on spending $2k max on the flowers and decorations - this is doing it DIY with a friend of my mothers. My venue is big and needs a LOT of flowers.

This will include:

- My bouquet
- 1 BM posy
- 2 BM hoops
- 2 BM pomanders
- 10 boutonnieres
- 3 corsages

- 2 pedestal arrangements
- 2 doorway arrangements
- Large swags and pillar decoration - I am using fake ivy here and wiring in fruit and flowers

- 12 centrepieces - urns or baskets of fruit with trailing ivy

- 1 register table arrangement
- 1 cake arrangement
- 1 top table swag

My invitations are coming in around the $800 mark for 100. They're hand-engraved though.
STD magnets - $100 plus postage and cards (I used xmas cards)

The flowers really depend on what kind of flowers you want to use, which season you get married in, how many people in your wedding party (less is more, btw), what other arrangements you want other than the centerpieces, etc. We are using gerbera daisies for the bouquets and centerpieces and mini roses for the boutonnieres and corsages.

For the invites, a DIY kit that we print and assemble is working well for us, especially since we are sending only 45 invites. The kit + some extra cards we bought went up to 1,50$/invitation. Of course, stamps add up to that, but I''m a dirty cheater and I''m not counting them in the budget.

We''re ordering our flowers from proflowers.com, they will cost around $2,200.

We just ordered our invites from Crane''s, and they cost $1,200 for 125. They''re engraved, the return address is engraved on the outer envelope, and that includes inner & outer envelopes, lining, extra envelopes because my mother is calligraphying the addresses, the invites, and the response cards. So, they cost $9.60 each when all is said and done. I know this is a large cost for invites, but engraved invitations was one of my non-negotiables, since I''m a stationery nut and I can''t imagine the next opportunity I''ll have to send out engraved invitations. I''m very excited about them.

My flowers are insanely cheap because I''m using pom daisies for everything. Our bouquets are hand-tied daisies and our centerpieces are just pom daisies in decorated mason jars.

Invitations:
$150 for 120 of invites, rsvp postcards, outer envelopes w/ return address, welcome reception invitations, accomodations cards, and artist-dawn maps.

I had designed the invitations (artist friend designed the map), and was planning on getting them letterpressed, when my printer sister took over and decided to make them herself. Needless to say, at this price, I''m thrilled.

We''re doing an after-elopement celebration so there won''t be a need for bouquets which will be a great savings.

I am going to budget $1k-1.5k and hope to get out of that a couple of larger scale arrangements, a few rented or purchased large trees with flowers or something, green garland for the staircase and corsages for the mothers and grandmothers. I want really small centerpieces since I want the focus to be on the larger arrangements.

We were using Mercurio Brothers but started having a lot of problems with them (in terms of responsiveness). They have price estimates on their website though if that helps. Someone on this board mentioned another letterpress company, but I can''t remember the name! It''s in one of the current topics, I''lll try to find it.

what do you all think about using the same flowers for both days back-to-back?

ill need to talk it over with my gf but itd def save us money but im not sure what colors she would have in mind for the diff days..

maybe we could have them rearrange some of the flowers to change it up...
