How much have you planned?

So, as all girls do.... How much of your impending wedding have you planned out in your mind?

I already chose my theme, colors, kinds of flowers, wedding rings, and even my cake!! I think I may have picked my gown too!
I''m totally obsessed with wedding shows, they give you such great ideas!!

I can''t wait for TLC''s Say Yes To The Dress! YAY. I love wedding dresses... almost as much as I love looking at engagement rings!

I had done a lot of research before getting engaged. I bought bridal magazines every now and then, perused theknot.com for dresses, researched venues in my area... by the time we got engaged I thought I had figured everything out and I''d have no planning left! Boy, was I EVER wrong

i for my whole life have loved weddings, so i have been planning mine for the last 27years, and its a good thing i have i just got engaged sat and am 99% that i am going to book the venue for 6/28/08!!! yeah u did the math less thank a year 8months!! i getting it at almost 50% off just because its less than a year away! hey ill take it ive had enough time to plan!! haha Nebe how''s the ring settings going??

Oh yeah, I did a lot of looking before I got engaged. What''s strange now though is that since I''ve gotten engaged last Sunday, I haven''t looked at a thing. I''m sure this feeling will wear off once the engagement bliss fades a bit!

Nebe how's the ring settings going??

Iiiii have too many choices. I think I'm going custom with WF. I really liked the Sisley by Vatche, but I'm worried about their craftsmanship. Pearlman's doesn't carry it so I can't mail view it and none of the bozo jewelry stores around here have anything, period.

I think I might go with a an original WF Legato head, a surprise diamond set underneath and a bead set 1mm braided 3/4 band. ...maybe?

And I just changed my stone choice... again.

I think I'm going to get a 2ct Princess of Hearts now.

But I can't buy that til FH gives me the dinero next July - Sept, which means I can't design the setting til at LEAST then.

Oh well, I'll twiddle my thumbs and hang around here.

The way I look at it is, there wouldn't be so many PSers with Vatche settings if their craftsmanship were inferior. We are a discriminating bunch!. I looked all over where I live (LA) from Harry Winston to the Diamond District. Vatche isn't inferior to a single brand that I looked at, and certainly is far superior to most!

I annoy FH with all my wedding shows, too. I love Who's Wedding Is it Anyway? and the insane Platinum Weddings.

Musey, I'd want to see it before I buy it. I've been enough of WF customs to be comfortable with going with them (I can't justify Leon's prices

). I may heavily consider the Sisley if I could see it or anyone else owned it, but alas, this is not the case!

I'm too much of a perfectionist to compromise on the quality of the setting.

Say Yes to the Dress comes on for the first time on friday night... I forget what time... i''m gonna make my boyfriend watch it with me since he''s visiting and we only have one tv!

I too watch all the wedding shows. Rich Bride Poor Bride is also a very eye-opening show. It’s amazing to see just how over budget people will go to have a wedding

I’ve thought about the atmosphere I’d like to have…pretty much all the things most LIW’s and BIW’s think about. Obviously my ideas and themes ebb and flow with the tide. Some days the wedding is chic with a very clean, classic feel and other days I envision something more fun (I’ve often thought of a Mad Hatter Tea Party theme). In the end I will probably find a way to merge fun with classic.

The only downfall to my brain brimming with ideas? I shared a few with a BIW and she kinda "borrowed" a few of my ideas. From the bakery, to the color pallet, to the dress style and lastly she used the invitations I had previously shown her I wanted to use for my Big Day. While all of these things stung like heck initially, I realized that however close I may be to being engaged the fact is: I’m not. So, I don’t have any right to stake a claim on any particular color pallet or cake style or dress or invitations.

There was a small part of me that, upon seeing the invitation mock ups, went into the red for a bit.

I guess we all have our LIW moments. Luckily I’ve gotten really good at keeping mine between me, myself and PS
