How to set a yellow zircon inexpensively

I just impulse purchased a pale yellow zircon on an eBay sale. It is an oval and would fit a standard 9x7 mount.

I paid only $67 for it so would like to set it cheaply but I know they are fragile and probably need a protective setting like a bezel.

Happy to set in sterling silver should I look for a mount on Etsy or eBay ?

Any recommendations or ideas would be appreciated.

My spinel is my next project so in no rush

Super cheap: There's an Etsy seller , I think it's called Moose Cry (you might have to search), he sells silver settings and will mount your stone for 10 bucks.

Pretty cheap: I'm a zircon fan, and definetly prefer a bezel for them. DanielM is very reasonable and does great bezels. He does silver too. You can see samples of his bezel work on his Etsy site. (DanielMjewelry)

If it is a calibrated standard size, then I would probably look at the settings on offer from diamondmounts of eBay that is based in China.

@dk168 it is a calibrated size but I have organised for the ring to go to Daniel M he gave a very reasonable price to simply set the ring for me in a bezel style which is would protect the zircon.

I just want something very simple for this stone as it was very cheap and I would like
To be able to wear it dressed down

I did check out lord of the gems I think? But they were more expensive than Daniel

If it’s fragile, I would be less inclined to bezel set as that type of setting can put more stress on the gem. You have to hammer and press down on all sides of the gem vs a prong mounting.

@Pennyc, this is just beautiful! The setting is beautifully done! Can't wait to see it on your hand. I think it's a shame that the cost of a setting keeps us from enjoying these amazing gemstones and it's great to know there are inexpensive and lovely options available. I would love a garnet ring at some point but honestly am not up to spending a lot of money right now. I will definitely keep Daniel M in mind!

@junebug17 i know!! This has made it possible for me to snap up bargain stones and still have them set. Stone and all around $200 AUD so not much more than $120 USD
