Also this ring has a mechanism in the band that unlocks it so it could slide over the wearer’s knuckle and then lock. Of course, it’s too small for me. Can the band be replaced with a regular one? As always, I am drawn to unusual rings and this color combination was very eye-catching. I am also entertaining having it converted to a pendant but I have to admit, I like looking at my jewelry. I’d appreciate any input or opinion you may have on it.

May be garnet around the sides? Is it an opal doublet/triplet? Very pretty!

This ring is one I am going to have to investigate. Honestly, I am stumped but all I know for sure is it caught my eye and overall, I am pretty spot in at finding something fine. Thank you so much for your kind comments!!!

As for some of the stones being garnets, I think they’re too pink for that. They’re a dark pink and the others are a light pink. I thought garnet was more of a deep reddish color.

Super pretty halo, and a nice size opal, too. I've never had an opal craze, but I used to say that about emeralds, too; then, I changed my mind, at least a little. I'm still not sure about emerald cut emeralds, which are the classiest look, but I'll take rounds and ovals for emeralds.

Anyway, back to your ring--I think you should take it out in the sun and take some more pictures!

Garnets come in all colors. The deep red garnets with extinction are the cheapest ones, but there are pink, green, orange, yellow, purple and even blue-green color change garnets.

If your pink stones look totally transparent under the sun but get grayer or show extinction indoors, as the dark pink ones do in your pictures above, they're probably tourmalines. Garnets should look more consistent between sun and indoors.

I guess tourmaline or garnet for the darker pinks, and spinels or sapphires for the lighter pinks. But, we won't know for sure until we test them! There's some version of Presidium gem tester that will tell you the refraction to narrow things down a bit, but those things are pricey!

Beautiful ring!!!!
