Hi, i want to make a three stone ring using two cushion cut diamonds and a centre spinel, a red one. Eventually i hope to add more diamonds. Any ideas where i could look for a nice shiny spinel? Also, post me some pics of your cushion cut diamonds to keep me going...thanks!

What size in mm ? The weight for size may vary allot - prices even more.

Hunting down a small, fine red should be fun. I only know of a particularly hot pink, off the bat...

___

Edited to add:

RED

- I rather like the shape, reminding that spinels may come out of the ground (or host rock) as perfect little octahedra ...

If I were to choose my colour of spinel, it would be lighter than this classical red.

Then,

Sidestones ?

I checked three sites I thought would have a red spinel that size. I think it’s a great idea, by the way! Gary at Finewater and the Gemcal website always have beautiful red spinel. I would contact those vendors and see if they have smaller stones in stock. Yvonne Raley usually has smaller stones in stock, but I didn’t see any red spinel. Good luck on your quest!

I have two more suggestions. The gem trader and mastercutgems.

I would also encourage you to contact vendors that have larger spinels and see if they have smaller ones that they have not yet listed!

I’m still hunting stones. Might just use the umbalite garnet I’ve got coming use it as a main stone and put two diamonds either side
