he he he.
I am managing to get lots done for the wedding while i''m away in Dallas!!

Last week My sister booked my limo (we decided to go with an SUV.. but its not a Hummer, because that is against all my principles..)... she is also working on finalizing the shower plans. Everytime she calls there the girl who books the showers is busy.. because for whatever reason, she is a server at lunch time..

I also had my dad fax back my invitation proofs for me, so they should be either being printed or are already on thier way to my house

I booked hair appointments for the wedding day for me and my girls today (and make up for me.. Should i have booked nails too? Or should I get those done the day before? I will get fakes, if that matters)

I just got the shipment notification that my flowergirl dresses are coming on thursday.. so they''ll be there waiting for me when I get home! They are gonna be more than two months early from netbride, by the way. I''ll have to bring them straight over to my neices and get some pictures.. I can''t WAIT!

And! The bridal shop called my house and left a message that its time to schedule my first fitting, so soon as I get home I''ll be scheduling that and then scrambling to find some shoes!

Also when I get home I have to try to figure out a date with my crazy non-english speaking photographer to get my bridal portraits/hair trial done.. I emailed him a couple weeks ago about it, and he responded with something that didn''t really make sense.. I LOVE his work (www.artshotphoto.com his new website is GREAT!)..and he''s super nice.. but the language barrier can be frustrating!

I tried to call a place about getting chair covers today, and i''m starting to think they are out of business or something.. Or they are just terrible at keeping up with thier business.. I had put in two different online requests for quotes and never heard back.. so I finally called today. And got some weird answering machine. All it said was "You have reached your table is waiting .........(long pause so that I don''t know if its a machine or not)... >

I have about 6 months to go and all I''ve done is book the venue, chose the food and asked the bridesmaids and my brother to e be my man of honour.

How long till your wedding?

seriously MS,
You are a machine.
I think I need you around to motivate me!

Oh i have to say im not jealous one single bit! But it sounds like you have everything under control.

As for nail appointments, that was something i did the day before. I treated my BMs to lunch and afterwards their mani/pedis. It was sooooooooooooo relaxing for me. We had decorated that morning, so everything was done and all i needed to worry about was not messing up my nails!

Plus they looked nice for the rehersal and dinner.

And my personal opinion, fake nails hold polish a lot better than natural nails, so you should have even less to worry about!

Shay - Just over 4 months to go for me! I can''t believe its finally here!
NJC- You''re totally right about fake nails holding polish better. I can''t keep polish on my real nails for half a day.. Where with fakes they dont'' usually start to peel for at least 2 weeks.. sometimes three. I''ll prolly do them the day before. One less thing to worry about the morning of..

Wow, you got so much done - apparently Dallas can be good for wedding planning!

Invitations and Flowergirl dresses got to my house TODAY!!!! My mom said that the flowergirl dresses are REALLLLY long.. but I expected them to be.. But she said the invitations look really nice and the colors look good on both those and the dresses! I am probably going to bring the dresses over to my flowergirls on Sunday so I can take pictures of them!! YAY!!!

How exciting, MS. It seems like it was only yesterday when you were trying to decide on FG dresses and everything. And now it''s only 4 mos to your wedding. I am really excited for you.

Ohhhh, how exciting that you''ve gotten the dresses and invitations in! I haven''t even tasked Weston with designing our announcements. He''s not weaseling his way out of it this weekend (since he''s recovered from his surgery and all)!

Have a fabulous last night here in Dallas, Melissa! Enjoy yourself, and just know that you''ll be home in NO TIME!

BTW, I saw your house pics . . . soooooooo cute! I love older architecture! How exciting for you and J! :)

Hello Everyone,
I was surfing the web for center stones and came across this website. I think it is great I have 10 weeks before my wedding and I am feeling a little overwhelmed. I am looking for opinions on wedding favors. I was thinking of purchasing picture frames as favors and sending pictures to everyone with the thank you card. Any other suggestions? I did not want the typical favors that have the candy in them and a ribbon with our names on them. Also, should I be paying for the usher, flower girl and ring bearers clothes? All I keep hearing is it is your wedding and you can do it the way you want. I am trying to keep cost down because me and my FI give to everyone in the family on a constant basis so I think they should understand that we are keeping the wedding small. We are only inviting family, the ones that come to every function that we give. e.g. holidays, birthday parties and cookouts. Some of them just show up at our house knowing that we will have food.

Am I wrong for thinking this way, I told my FI we are changing for 2006, cutting cost in entertaining others and taking more trips for ourselves. I went off on a tangent but the bottom line is we are trying to keep cost for the wedding and reception to a minimum. Hopefully at 2500.00 not including our rings.
Any other ideas?

Alewis - the photo frame idea sounds great! Have you found affordable ones?

You definitely do NOT have to pay for the flowergirl dresses or the ringbearer outfit. I didn''t pay for mine, I just had them shipped to my house.. I guess just so I could see them before I gave them to my flowergirls..

Its a good thing to keep things small..Don''t worry about feeling like you aren''t inviting enough people or that you''re not doing enough for your guests.. I''m sure your wedding will be great and fun no matter what!

The only things that you absolutely CANNOT DO is a)Have a cash bar and b)come right out and ask for gifts.. especially cash..
