So, you may remember my hair trial pics and how I wasn''t really please with the results.
https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/hair-and-make-up-trail-pics.80426/

I just spoke with the stylist and she got MAJOR attitude with me and I was nothing but nice!!!

I starting out by telling her I wanted to give it another go and come in for another trial. She basically came out and told me that it wouldn''t work out and that I should find someone else. I told her that I wasn''t blaming her and that we just didn''t have enough time. She said she realizes that I''m not blaming her, but that we are "seeing different things". That means to me that she thinks the hairstyle is too difficult. Fine, I will take my butt someone else, but I feel like that''s $50 down the drain. I told her that I was disappointed that I wasted $50 and that I was trying to continue my business with her. She said "Well, you walked out of here with an up-do." I said "I took it down as soon as I got home because the bobby pins were hurting my head. So, yeah you''re right, this isn''t going to work."

I do appreciate the honesty, but she should''ve told me all of this BEFOREHAND. AND she could''ve been a little nicer about it. Her tone of voice made me want to slap her. Completely unprofessional. We were planning on going to that salon on the day of for EVERYTHING. My mother has been getting her hair cut there for 15 years. Luckily, she has an appointment today with the owner and will talk to her about it.

Arrrghhh!!! I hate wasting money!

UGH! Those kind of things really drive me nuts. It''s a good thing your Mom has been a loyal customer for so long... bc I would have to bet that you get a call from the owner later apologizing for the problem. These things aren''t ok in my book, and they really rub me the wrong way, Hard! Sorry about this annoyance, I know how aggrivated you must be. Hopefully Mom can work it all out and they can offer you another stylist.

That''s COMPLETELY unprofessional of her! You called her back to say you wanted to give it another try, and she turns you down? She should have had the salon''s interest in mind, and offered another stylist there to do it AT THE VERY LEAST.

Sorry you are pissed but scre that hairdresser! Wow, that is such unprofessional behavior. Imagine her throwing a tantrum on your wedding day for whatever reason!! I definitely chalk up her attitude due to the fact that she didn''t have the skill for the style you want to accomplish.

Good thing your mom is talking to the owner today because that is so wrong. If she could get you your money back that wouldn''t be too bad either.

I am so sorry about your experience! Cut your losses, and find someone more professional, who can do what you are asking. It sounds t ome like she knew that what you were asking for was out of her ability and instead of graciously matching you with someone who could help you, decided to blame you for being unhappy. IT IS NOT YOU!!!
I hope you find someone more talented and more professional in your next try.

I hate it when people act like that!!

I''m so sorry that you had to deal with someone as unpleasant as her. You can definitely do better- although I realize it is an inconvenience to start back at square one. Can anyone else recommend a stylist to you? I know it''s a fairly snarky, but the Knot users on my local message board have been pretty useful in good recommendations too.

Courtney - It might of been a blessing to find this out now.. and not have a blow up on your wedding day. It sounds like your hairdresser was a bit unsure and limited .

The knot does make very good recommendations for Vendors that are worth while. I am sure with your looks and gown , you
will look stunning on your Wedding Day

Courtney, I''m sorry that this had to happen to you. At least you found out now rather than later. I wound not hold this against the salon maybe the owner can suggest another stylist and you and your mom can get gussied up together.

I''m so sorry your hairdress is a B! Definitely try the knot brides, and hopefully they''ll have tons of pics so you will know what is doable. I''d recommend my guy to you, but I don''t know how often he does updos. However I do remember having tons of bobby pins in my hair and it was tight. Maybe you can schedule your next trial for the same day as your dress fitting so you can see the two together.

So my mom had her appointment and spoke with the owner. She was more professional and seemed to want our business (wow, shocker). My mom set an appointment for me with another stylist and the owner suggested that I bring the picture in BEFORE the trial. That way the stylist can kind of play with my hair and figure out if it''s doable. She also asked that I email her the desired do picture and I''m also including the picture of the actual trial hair style. I''m not 100% that I want to return to the salon and I still feel like I deserve some sort of a credit towards another trial or something. We will see.

Thanks for all the suggestions, ladies.

On a good note, I had my annual review today and got an AMAZING salary increase!

oh man... that''s sad. =( but i''m glad the owner is taking the lead in making things right. it''d be worse if she was just like, "whatever!" but hopefully they''ll give you some sort of credit or a free trial run or something! wouldn''t that be awesome.

and YAY for pay increase!!! i want one! =)

Wow, how rude!!

I am so sorry you have to find somewhere and someone else.

Hopefully your Mom can straighten that salon out!

Aw Courtney, I''m sorry to hear you were treated that way. I''m like you--I wouldn''t want to give that salon any business after being treated like that, but it sounds like your mom really trusts them so hopefully it will work out better this time around.

You''re so gorgeous and your hair is to die for, so you should look INCREDIBLE on your wedding day. If a stylist can''t work with what you''ve got, they''re hopeless!

I have gotten SO MANY bad updos at weddings, it''s like a bad epidemic or something. We need better wedding stylists!

well the only thing is, at least you found out what a wagon that woman was now, rather than on your wedding day! I personally wouldn''t return to this salon, but I can see why you are as your mother has been going there for so long. Hopefully your next trial is better!
