I took typing class, on an actual typewriter, when I was in HS. I passed, but I was better in other classes.

I have always been a horrible typist and I rely heavily on spell check. I have submited over 400 pots and I know they probably all have typing errors.

I''ve clicked on every icon that shows up when you post. Am I having a blond moment, or is there not a spell check button???

Please help

I graduated a year early from HS and never even took typing! Whoever knew we would ALL need to be able to type, as the computer age was unimaginable then!

I can spell much better than I can type, but you might not know it on this forum! I am not aware of a spellcheck on here, either!

Sometimes I will have Word or another word processor open in another window and I''ll type my post there, use that spell check, and then copy and paste in here. Sometimes I just use it to type one word to check the spelling, and then I come back to my post and put the word in (I actually just did this a minute ago to check my spelling of the word "circumference" in my last post)

naw I''m the typo king!!!!

What operating system and browser are you using?
There is pretty much a spellcheck add on for all of them and I can point you too the best one.

Back in the olden days

, we were streamed either academic or business depending on our preference and marks. Typing wasn''t even offered to those of us who were in the academic stream; instead we studied Latin which isn''t nearly as helpful as typing would have been.

As a result, any assignment that had to be typed (few and far between back then) were completed using the well-known "hunt and peck system". I personally use a two finger system (the two index fingers

) to type. My granddaughter is after me to take a typing course, but I''ve adopted so many bad keyboarding habits that I''m almost certain I''d be back to my old ways very soon. It takes a little longer, but it works.

you are a computer genius! I don''t even know if I am answering your question right. My personal laptop uses DOS/vista and internet explorer

and my work laptop is MS office/internet explorer. is that what you need??

Firefox provides spellcheck within the browser. I''m using it right now and it has underlined "spellcheck" for me. Doesn''t seem to like it.

I have a Mac so the google box is built into the browser and I didn''t bother to download the toolbar. I have to use Firefox since I upgraded Safari. It doesn''t work with PS. I think that''s been mentioned a few (hundred) times.

well, I''ve never had a typing error on a "pot", but I guess it could happen to anyone...

Ahh.. don''t worry about it.

I''ve worn out more dictionaries than most people have ever known. Spell check is not always a great answer anyway. There be all kinks of wards that pas a speel cheek.

We can figure it out; and I trust you can all figure out what I write as well. Only on rare occasions do I run a spell check on what I write (as I do not use google toolbar of other things for certain reasons; I do cut and paste into Word as necessary.

Oh, I also learned how to type on a manual typwriter (our class had alternating rows of electric and manual typewritters).
