I got my Fulbright letter today--and I got it! Going to Morocco next year on the government''s dime, baby...and then to NYU on theirs.

Now I have to offically apply for a deferral...whoo hoo!

I had a friend go to Ireland to do research and write on a Fulbright scholarship and she loved it and it was one of the best experience she''s ever had, but I remember how hard she worked to get the scholarship....so it is quite an achievement! So awesome for you!! And I bet Morocco will be so cool to spend a year in. Will your fiance go with you?

first, there is no support for unmarried dependants. two, its sort of a luxury he can''t afford what with having to apply to med school, trying to blow off a year in morocco wouldn''t sound too productive to them.

my mom might come though! she is retired and thinks it would be fun. this will be nice for me since women can''t really socialize in morocco, and even friendly people often have ulterior motives...
