The Plaza in NYC sounds like a good place. As a back-up, the Ritz-Carlton in Chicago will do (The Plaza can get so crowded this time of year).

vtigger - i was just thinking about this on the drive home today that we should have an annual PS convention. West meets East / North meets South. I can picture most of you set up your own individual booths with different themes to show off where you are from, who you are and what you love. Many of you will have to hire bodygaurd(s) of course. I will be haning a bucket around my neck to catch all the drools from looking at all the gorgeous "rock candy". And Pricescope can have a huge booth to sell their logo merchandize. We get to meet all the experts who have been so kind to guide us thru this exciting diamond buying business. Can someone from PS look into this...?

Okay, I'm giving the Rich Text approach a try...




I have a different idea.... Why not combine showing off bling-bling in an approved manner, ensure we've got security, make sure we have a nice setting, and do something challenging for both the men and the women?




It's a Pricescope Sothern Caribbean Cruise!!!!




Cruises always have dress up nights, where almost everyone puts on their Tuxedos, long gowns, etc...and much bling-bling. You can get wonderful formal portraits, with that rare occasion when your hubby is not wearing jeans and actually looks presentable.... The women, of course, are all gorgeous!




What better occasion to compare all sorts of diamonds, when you've got your best clothes on too..all while being totally served by a crew devoted to your happiness (read, there are no dishes/mess to clean up afterwards).




Since you're on a large ship, they provide the security....and the food, and the drinks (tho you pay for that).




I detect a bit of rivalry going on though...but we have a way to settle that! /idealbb/images/smilies/rodent.gif




One of our ports will be St Maarten's, where we will have a Guys vs Gals race on 12 Metre America's Cup boats. Not only is this a once-in-a-lifetime type experience, it will be a fun competitive outing. The stakes will be high though - the loosing boat buys the drinks and food at a local beachside restaurant....

Websailor should ship his sailboat to Chicago and do the Chicago to Mackinaw Island race and we could all meet at the Grand Hotel where dressing up and wearing all the BLING you have is required! I've been there and its BEautiful.

Where are you near? I live in T.C. MI right on Grand Traverse Bay. I have a friend whose husband does that race every year. I've been to the Grand several times with my husband and his real estate seminars. Great fun. However, I always feel a little uncomfortable as I don't really have the necessary clothing and have to always bolster my wardrobe a bit and go into debt just to be dressed properly.

But I always manage to have a blast there. My husband, no kids, good food, good drink, a little dressing up and all of a sudden you're in fantasy land

Too cool! I live in Harbor Springs! I have been to Grand Hotel several times too, but it has been with the Winsome Women retreat. Haven't been in a while, but I know what you are talking about with the dressing up. We've been here for 15 years and I didn't know how to dress casually at first! I came from a stuffy business background (Detroit auto related biz). So now, it is so casual here that I don't have much in the way of ball gowns, but it sure is fun to dress up!

And it is fantasy land for sure!

The Mack races (Port Huron and Chicago to Mack) are a crazy time for the island, with the increase in people AND the drunken sailors!! (Not all of them, but a good number of 'em.)

I come to TC every few months as we consider it "The Big City"!

This last summer we made it to Bowers Harbor twice and Leland once on our boat. What a gorgeous area.

Maybe we could go to lunch sometime?
