wow, do you think they could make them into gizmos? just had the big studs with the halos and then the rest as a detachable gizmo to wear when you want all the bling? think about it, it might work!

Wow, those are amazing!!! I''ll have to admire them on you, because I almost never go to anything black tie these days.

If I had those, I''d wear them with jeans, and pjs, and in my birthday suit. I''d also get holsters to hold my ears and jaw up from the ground ;)

They are lovely!

They are amazing!!! I love them!!!

I think they are wonderful! Go out on the town and show those babies off!!

Ooooh, clever idea! Can they do that?
Those earrings are AMAZING! Put out your LBD and take those babies to TOWN!

I thought I had a tolerance threshold for bling, but I guess not!!!

Holy moley! They really are just stunning. Maybe try the Hollywood thing-- ripped jeans, white tanktop, and those beauties blinding everyone one the sidewalk? [Do they really do that in LA, or have I been misled by stereotypes?

They really are lovely. How about I move to Shanghai with you, keep you company, and play with your bling all day long?

they look stunning on you!wear em with a little black dress or to the market...dont let them sit in the box to much!

Too blingy? Never! Enjoy those blingy beauties! And I agree with the others who said you have beautiful hair. Amazing collection, Phoenix!

They''re gorgeous! Definitely for black tie events though. I like Steels idea of being able to take out the top stud if they''re jackets surrounding it.

Holy Moly!!

Well, I suppose there are worse problems a girl could have. They are incredible - hope you got to wear them to an inaugural ball or something!

Great idea. Another idea is to have the bottom portion made into a pendant.

I think they are stunning!!!

I can''t believe we are nearly at the end of the second pages and no one has asked yet.

Stats, please!!!

How much does this baby weight (including metal)? What is the size of the pave stones?ow many of them? Details on the main diamonds. SPill the beans, girl!

Lovely, blingy earrings, by the way.

Wow...just WOW! Those are soooooo beautiful!! Did they used to be 4 pairs of studs? Bravo for the beautiful design, Phoenix, you''ve turned them into one pair of absolutely stunning earrings.

Too blingy? Too impractical? Boy are you talking to the wrong bunch--I second everybody who said they''d wear them with anything and go anywhere in them. I''d feel like a movie star going to the grocery store in those things!!

Thanks for sharing!!

WOW!!!

I love them Phoenix, they are gorgeous on you. In fact, I love all of your jewelry!!!

Oh, my goodness! They are beautiful. Next up: finagling an invitation to the Oscars.

If you really don''t want to wear them, you could send them to me to wear for my wedding--they would certainly top most other brides'' "something borrowed"

Thank you so much, everyone, for your kind words and yr encouragement!!

I can always count on PS'ers to give me the extra encouragement, tee hee!!

I've been trying to get used to just the *idea* of having such blingy earrings!! Up til now, my jewellery has always been *fairly* discreet (I guess that's relative, LOL!!), beautiful but not too flashy. However, I didn't actually want to save the earrings for black tie events only. I wanted to make use of all the diamonds that had been left sitting in the cupboard for far too long. So, today, I worked up my courage to wear them to a nice dinner in an upscale restaurant. I wore my new Versace shoes, new Gucci dress and recently acquired Gucci bag. I had dinner with my tai tai friend, who obviously approved them wholeheartedly, LOL! (But of course, she would, and that's why I wore them out tonight to dinner with her. Between my PS friends here and my tai tai friend IRL, I was able to wear them and actually enjoyed wearing them tremendously
36.gif
!! Still, they're not for day wear and certainly not for work, but I think I can wear them out to dinner or similar occasions and I don't have to wait for real special events like a black tie event or a ball.

Thanks for some of yr suggestions to split them up into halo'ed studs and jackets. In fact, that's what they used to be: studs and other pairs. I had four pairs: 1) solitaires/ martini studs (they were made from my original engagement ring, and DH's fifth wedding anniversary present to me. I had jackets made for them which I hardly wore still, even with the jackets; 2) and 3) bezelled earrings made from my mom's earrngs which she left me when she passed away; and 4) dangly earrings which again I hardly wore because of the pin / design which hurt my ears.

As far as specs are concerned. they are as follows:

1) solitaires: 1 ct and 1.03ct each, so cttw is 2.03ct, G VVS1, GIA and IGI certed;

2) bezelled studs: 0.90cttw and 0.60cttw;

3) dangly earrings, comprising of 0.70cttw solitaires and melee diamonds; and

4) melee diamonds of about 2.5-3 pointer each. I think total carat weight is somewhere between 3.5- 4cttw (I've not picked up the report from the gemologist yet).

Apart from the solitaires in 1 above, the colour and clarity of the rest are E-G, VS-VVS1.

Thanks again, everyone.

WOW those are red carpet worthy! Practical for daily wear, probably not, but GORGEOUS for fancy events!

Glad you are happy with them. I was reserving my comment b/c I couldn''t tell if you were happy or not. They certainly are special and that is wonderful that you will enjoy wearing them! I also love a good recycle project!
