I hope this is the right place for a titanium question...

Can you engrave titanium? We ordered my FI''s ring from a local jeweler and he picked titanium. I want to have it engraved but I''m not sure if it can be engraved.

Thanks!

I don''t see why not!! Unless the ring design prohibits it. But the fact that it is titanium shouldn''t make the difference. According to Boone Rings, their titanium rings can be engraved!

According to my jeweler, titanium can not be engraved without a special engraving tool, which most jewelers do not have. I could not get my husband''s new titanium ring engraved like I wanted because of this. Boone must have the tool because they specialize in platinum.

Well, then I guess you would need to find a person who specializes in titanium, such as Boone Rings or Titanium Workshop. Both sites can engrave their own rings, but maybe they would be willing to engrave your already purchased ring. It''s worth a shot if you really want it engraved.

GRRRR. Oh well.

Thanks for the info, anyway, yall. I really wanted to have it engraved so I''ll have to do a local search.

We had Ryan;s done by Bruce when his ring was made and it''s fainter than my promise band but definitely there.
