OK, here are my new beauties that I have bought and has not photographed yet - I am just waiting for inspiration, or something else.
Just a list, to keep myself motivated.

- Gene's 1.59 ct Lake Barringo ruby arrived today. My smaller one (from him) looks brighter (it is a cushion cut) but this one has this velvety glow. It is like purple-violetish velvet. Beautiful stone, and I am thinking of a jeweler to set it.

- The other one is a Tanzanian spessartite. It is beautiful, of this golden-orange color. Not orange like my Namibian but also spectral, neon- colored. I do not know who to send it to for setting or how to set it but since it is such a beautiful stone and so beautifully cut, I think people would like to set it. I wonder why it stayed on his website for so long, unless everyone else had his share of Gene's spessartines.

- And Amguy, your spinel is dark blue, no grey...as you have promised. It looks very much like a sapphire, and I like the color. Pretty nice stone.

- Also, one of Osirisgem's stones is a beauty! Another one is a nice rhodolite, large, fine for the price. But the smaller one is so bright...and the color is so unusual. Hopefully, the inspiration will come! I am just starting this thread so that there would be no way for me to wiggle out of photography.

photos please!!! :appl:

Where is that darn emoticon that says "This thread is worthless without pictures!"

POST PICTURES!!!! ME wants to SEE! =)

Definitely no excuses for the lack of photography; you can at least share with us the vendors’ pictures, right? :naughty:

Where are the pictures?!!?

And where are the pictures of the completed James Meyer ring?

OK first James' vendor picture

Now, I did make several pictures last weekend. The place was wrong and I was in a hurry but at least for a start...

This, as you may guess, is James' ring with Gene's ruby

Crasru, very nice rings. James Meyer always does such a beautiful job.

yea that blue spinel has zero gray which is rare in blue spinels..I know TL was looking at it at one point..shhh.. :naughty: it's for a person who likes slightly darker stones but when that blue catches the light..I was going to give it to my mom for mothers day but decided a spess would do..really needs to be seen in person or on video..still shots were a pain in the butt..one of the harder stones I tried to photo

Okay, after that description, is there a photo of this blue spinel? I'm dying to see it now!

ETA: I found the spinel. ;))

Gorgeous rings Crasru, thank you for the teaser photos. I love the Lake Baringo ruby you bought from Gene, it's been on my wish list and I'm glad it went to a lovely lady like yourself.

Your James Meyer ring is understated yet so beautiful - I love it!

Thank you all for your support and compliments!
Amguy - can you post the picture, please? I can not capture it at all. I have two beautiful stones - Gary's blue sapphire and your spinel and neither of them can be photographed right!

And this is Gene's spessartite... IRL it is totally neon. It has been photographed in evening light.

The background for this one is my new painting - it is actually Chinese red silk embroidery. Roses on silk.

And this is another Chinese picture... Also embroidered. They are amazing!
I'd say that this color of the stone is more true to life

Thanks for posting the photo of your James Meyer ring. The ring looks lovely. James Meyer's work is great and of course no one can cut a stone like Gene.

Thank you, Cindi. Gene's cuts are amazing. His stones, too...
