Hi OP, your diamond is gorgeous and huge! But I understand if the inclusion is not mind clean for you. You should feel happy and proud to wear your ring and you might not be 100% because of it. I just wanted affirm on the advice of fluorescence, many PSers seek out fluorescence in the h/i and lower range cause it can help make the diamond seem whiter in some lighting conditions. I also wanted to point out Phoenix's Brian Gavin Signature h&a stone she'd like to sell for $29k that seems to fit the bill and slightly larger than your current stone. Check it out on Pricescope Cafe (Pre-Loved section). Had to double check, Phoenix's stone does NOT flouro. The GOG stone, although lovely, is not true H&A but still a top grade cut and lively performer, given the diagrams.

I can see a little leakage under the table in the GOG stone, due to the pavilion angle. It's probably minor, but I'm not sure I'd want to trade the current stone for that one. However, medium fluor shouldn't worry you and I doubt it would even be noticeable. It's a nice perk IMO.

Re: I just received my diamond and its perfect, except maybe

Ideal does not equate perfect. Beautiful does not either. I think a beautiful woman with some flaws is much more exciting; think about some of the best actresses, many are not what you would call traditional beauty. I find the same is true about diamonds. I have come to even love some inclusions in certain stones and prefer that they are there instead of not being there. I love studying their inclusions and they really are like a fingerprint or birthmarks. I used to be stringent about clarity now I really do not want anything higher than VS. I even love some I1 stones they can have such a character. Ok I gotta admit I mostly work with fancy colored diamonds and there the very strong body color can hide the inclusions even in an I1 stone and make them not visible to the naked eye but I still remember the time I fell for a white I1. Granted I did not get it but it was one gorgeous stone. I may be in the minority but I tend to not want fluor, sometimes it is cool, sometimes it has a bad effect; in fancies I definitely would rather not have say blue fluor in a yellow, hard to say but the effect of fluor on a diamond is unpredictable.

You got a great stone but bottomline is if you are not happy with it then get something else.

Nice stone but will the dark inclusion on the center of the table bother you?

I was thinking the same thing. If its only visible by magnification then no. If by naked eye yes. I will inquire.

Re: I just received my diamond and its perfect, except maybe

I prefer the other GOG stone. This one has a dark inclusions under the table.

I will ask about all stones in my range and specs at GOG. Thanks!

Re: I just received my diamond and its perfect, except maybe

Caught a precise shot of the white inclusion. It runs horizontal over one of the arrows.
In the left center of table. Thoughts? I'm still going back and forth.

Re: I just received my diamond and its perfect, except maybe

I couldn't handle an eye visible inclusion. Check out the ones from GOG and see what they say.

Re: I just received my diamond and its perfect, except maybe

I returned it. Back to the drawing board! Thanks again for everyone's advice and support!

Yes I did see Phoenix's gorgeous stone! Just worried that I will find the inclusions in an SI2. She says it's eye clean so that's reassuring. Will do some more research!
Thanks!

Re: I just received my diamond and its perfect, except maybe

Hi OP, okay interesting. If you decide to go further with the pre-loved or any stone, maybe you could have the stone sent to a third party appraiser like Neal Beatty who can give you (the buyer) more info. before purchase (and act as escrow?). I'm not sure about the escrow part, I always wondered about that because that would make buying from a private party easier. I think I read another thread not long ago about Roqsteady doing just that? Sorry, if I'm mistaken, but worth checking out and good luck and have fun with your hunt!

Hi luvdajules!
Yes that is an option to take it to a third party in NY (I'm in CA)! Perry Chen at Leon Mege has Phoenix's stone so he is my eyes for now.
It wasn't ever a mind clean thing, by the way. Eye clean SI1's and SI2's don't mess with my head if I cannot see the inclusions but having eagle eyes that are loosely trained being in the jewelry industry, I spot the inclusions that the average person may not.
Phoenix's stone checks all the boxes and then some but am SO worried about having another stone come to me that isn't eye clean to my standards.

Re: I just received my diamond and its perfect, except maybe

If it were me, it would BUG me... that is me.. if I can see it then it's not eyeclean... for that money you should easily be able to get an eyeclean stone in the 2 carat area that is AGS0.

If no one else on earth can see it then you may not care.

Hello! Needing advice or reassurance as I only have a 9 day window to return (from very reputable online co) and I'm not sure if this is the best stone I can get for my money. I am not a diamond expert but an educated admirer id like to say.

Let me start by saying my budget was $30k w/ very little wiggle room. I wanted a Mrb 2.5-2.6 G or H eye clean SI1. XXX or very close to it.
They found me one of the most gorgeous 2.52 H AGS 000 H&A I've ever seen in my life. The arrows jump out of the stone, they are that clear! They assured me it was eye clean even though they said and report showed a white inclusion under the table. When I received it took me a minute but I spotted that white inclusion with my naked eye. I've tested it in every light and its impossible to find in some lighting conditions and the 3 people ive asked so far have not been able to find it with their eyes. Sometimes it just looks like a white sparkle or facet, sometimes I cant find it and sometimes an inclusion. If the experts could weigh in and tell me if this is the best stone I can get for my budget w/ out compromising size and color?
Is there anyone out there who has gotten used to their inclusions?
Thank you for your input!

Hi Dancing Fire,
Do you like Phoenix's stone? Any feedback on it is appreciated. I so want to buy it but considering I just returned the SI1 from this original post, I am very apprehensive about my next purchase and it being an SI2. Many more questions to be asked.
I've already wasted $80 (and time) to return the original diamond, I rather not keep doing that on shipping and insurance...so I have to be 100% sure this time around.

Thanks for your reply Tekate. In the end it really did bug me too much!I returned it yesterday and am back on the hunt! My specs stay the same but my expectations on SI stones have gotten a lot higher.

I like it a lot, the main inclusions seems to be a crystal on the periphery that can be covered or obscured by a prong. I always like a nice "honest" grade setting inclusions like that. And periphery inclusions don't bother me at all because I usually focus on the center of the stone. The cut on this new one is a 60/60 type, so it will favour white light return. It has longer lower halves so I would anticipate faster scintillation. Worth evaluating in person if the people at GOG give it a thumbs up.

Thanks for your honest opinion. GOG confirmed eye clean to my standards this time and more eye clean than the one I just sent back which was the original diamond on this post.

Forgot to ask you... Do longer lower halfs mean a smaller carat appearance from the top? Or will it look like a true 2.5 carat?
Thanks

In short, lower halves are facets on the pavilion of the diamond that cause the arrows in MRBS. Long lower halves means skinny arrows and fast scintillation. It does not affect face-up size. This diamond faces up very large -- look at the measurements to understand it's face up size.
