My BF is out at his company''s holiday party tonight, and I am enjoying a little alone time at home--just me and my "little friend." I just took him (yes, that''s right, it''s a HE

) on a tour of our apartment. The setting will be delivered on Monday and I am getting veeery excited!

After Monday this whole process is being turned over to BF - finally! - and our timeline is sometime by the end of this year, but preferably for me before Christmas so I can bling out my family.

Neat note: my 85 year old Grandma used to work in a factory polishing diamonds back in the 1950''s (I think) the old fashioned way, on a big wheel using diamond dust. I can''t wait for her to inspect our purchase!

Ahhh!!! Pscope is so fun. I feel you all have been my companion through this entire year: lurking, reading, posting, asking opinions and now finally we are getting close to the final countdown.

I told my girlfriend the other day, it''s Bling Minus Three Weeks.

Matatora, I am glad you got my little pun. Thanks for the compliments. I am trying to be good, and not spending too much time with that little guy, because, well, I could go overboard pretty easily with the constant peeking and looking.

Right now he''s living in BF''s dresser drawer. My best guess is handshots will come sometime between mid-week next week and the 22nd, we fly down to Atlanta to spend Christmas there with my family on the 23rd.

The setting will come Monday, I will give it to him that night and then the ball is in his court, as I''ve told him. I am going away next weekend (9th-11th) and we are actually moving the following weekend. So I''m not expecting it on a weekend. He told me there would be a "special evening" but honestly I don''t care if he just turns to me randomly with some sweet words one evening after work. This whole engagement ring thing was his idea, I had told him I just wanted no ring, or an eternity that I would wear as a w-band. So--I do kind of anticipate some sort of formal proposal since he seems to be into that and want that.

Anyhoo--sorry for the long rambles! I will keep everyone posted

It is so funny that all our little guys are like long lost cousins from WF. Too funny! Personally I don''t think I''ll ever go any higher than an I, SI1. I can see one feather inclusion if I flip him over on his belly (looking at the pavilion) but that''s it! Obviously I am not color sensitive, I think an I is as white as can be.

Engagment is in the air this holiday season, I suppose...I asked BF this morning if he wanted to take the little guy out. He was like, You mean outside?

I was like, no I mean just look at him. And of course he was like, no. But then he did say he was excited to be engaged. Yay!!

It would be fun to have some engagement twins on Pscope, I mean for ourselves and our young, sparkly lads. Perhaps we could set up a play date for the little fellows...

Pictures don''t do it an ounce of justice...it''s absolutely perfect in person (okay, okay, I''ll stop talking about my ring!

It''s so funny that we all have ES I color diamonds. I don''t know if I''d go any higher either...my I is so white and my SI1 is ridiculously eye-clean. I''ve never been able to see an inclusion. I guess we know how to get the best from our boyfriend''s dough

Update: I''ve hit a snag.

The setting came today, and it''s too small!

I am so bummed out. I know, it''s silly, because it can easily be resized, but I just wanted it to fit perfectly. I feel the LIWs and PScopers will understand my irrational disappointment.

I had gone to a jeweler and they measured me and said I was a 9.5 (yes, that''s right, I have GIANT fingers...even when I was thin I was a size 9). So this ring fits great on my right hand, but too tight on the left, even though I am right handed. I think I fall into that small category of people whose dominant hand is thinner than the other.

Oh well. I called the jeweler who is going to do the setting (Quest) and they were 99% sure they could make it larger and maintain the knife edge at the bottom of the ring. Anyone with experience who cares to share?
