I just wanna say -- the random comments thread

You know you're an adult when your mom and aunt offer you beer whilst sitting next to a sidewalk where you could easily get fined. You also know that it's a football day when the cops don't care.

I gave notice three weeks ago to leave my position at the end of the month. Basically, I gave 6 weeks notice. We've been woefully understaffed and they've already hired one new person and are looking for an additional. But my leaving still leaves one hole. This morning my boss hinted at asking me to stay longer.

I smell blood. I'm like a shark, circling him in the water.

I'm agreeing to stay one additional week full time and then go part time (Wed-Thurs-Fri) for as long as they need me OR until I need to leave (we've pursued an opportunity to take us out of state, but haven't heard back yet). I'm going to go after at least 80% of my salary. And my benefits. I'm already working FAR more than full time and I know that even working three days, I'll work nearly full time. Hey, they're desperate. What are they going to do? (Insert evil laugh here).
 
Go for it April! If they need you, make them pay for it.

I stooped to a new low. I was texting in the shower today! I was on a tight schedule and trying to coordinate a visit with my brother. There's really no good excuse, is there?

I'm so happy to be married. I've been our socially a lot more recently, and man, people make dating seem so arduous! :knockout:
 
My neighbor's kid is riding his bike outside. His mother must not realize that there is school on Columbus Day. lol
 
I'm home alone. I am a little tipsy, I'm lonely, I'm in the middle of a kitty sandwich (right now it's Ezra, princesss, Lola with a remote for garnish), and all I want to do is cry. I have a phone date with a college friend, and I'm Gchatting with the friend I'm staying with in NYC. I got probably some of the worst news of my life to date, and I decided to try this whole drinking alone thing. Healthy? Hell no. Effective? Not really. I mean, all I had for dinner was toast, so the drinking part was effective. But the numbing the feelings part? Not so much.

On a lighter note, you know you're a PSer when you see something on FB about how diamonds suck, and you go to the link they provide, read the article, and point out the flaws (somebody is seriously trying to say that the naked eye can't distinguish a good stone - well cut, "good" colour (in quotes because we know how subjective that can be!), eye clean - from a bad stone - poorly cut, "bad" colour, included), then sign the comment "Love, your friendly neighbourhood jewelry nut." I can feel the flame war coming, and I'm powerless to stop it.
