Many of of love September, it brings on a new school year, new seasons. I used to be one of them. I celebrate 25 years on 9/13. But today 9/3 it's been 18 years that I lost my dear brother..

And 9/11.. My loss of my dear friends hasn't gotten easier.. I heard the 9/11 calls last year for the first time... I was in such agony after hearing that, my brain really couldn't handle it. And then on 9/12 I was diagnosed with my neurological disorder.

On 9/11 it was our 15th wedding anniversary. We did nothing but got the kid their fave chinese food, and just were there for them,..

My dog died July 12th, he was 17 years old.

I am not in a mood to celebrate much...

And that cat who adopted us?? August 12th,,,

One month to the day that casper died?

Belongs to my neighbor. I said I asked you if you had a cat, she said I didn't.. Her cat was gone for a long time.. She went to the troulble of having he declawed which is just mean if you ask me..
She said Oh I am so happy you have her, she's going to do so well with you.. I said no... I can't keep her, and she is YOUR cat..

I said well I was to go to Nantucket but got sick, this cat was on my door, so Boarded her, and got her tested, all shots and had her micro chipped. She said you did all that??? I said what the heck was I to do..

I am dropping off ( my sweet Sadie ) to her on Tuesday.

I know it will be a matter of days that Sadie makes her way back to me.. She wasn't taken care of. But I just can't have her here with 3 people that are allergic. If kids and husband are gone, yes, she can come in and that's what I did during the hurricane. She was living the life.. And gave me such pleasure too.. I had cats growing up, and my Sadie, was so playful and thankful to be here.. I have a feeling I will get this worked out, I can't belive she didn't search for her.. And let her out to be defenseless.. Gah...

I hope that you can think of some way of saving Sadie from her irresponsible owner. I understand allergies and know the misery they can cause, but Sadie would be better off in a no-kill shelter where she might find a decent home.

I'm so sorry for all the losses you've had to work through at this time time of year.

(Big Hugs to you)

Vent warning...

Am I the only one it bugs when someone drags up a really old thread with not really anything to add to it except maybe
"I love your ring".

I keep seeing these "new" post in SMTB and when I bring them up I'm thinking this looks kind of familiar. Then I check
the date on it and its from much earlier in the year (or last year) and these posters basically arent on the forum anymore.

Now I have to check the dates on all the threads to make sure they are from this century. Its just annoying to me but maybe
I'm the only one it bothers...

Vent over...

I found out that the online med terminology course I'm taking is not actually a for credit course. It is meant to be a preliminary course. I felt like it was really easy, and not quite structured as I would have expected. :nono: Guidance could have let me know.

That stinks! Are you going to keep taking it anyway or try to get into a credit class?

I'm going to keep taking it. I'm already halfway through and it's too late to register for a credited class. I'll just take the credited class next semester.

Is it a precursor to a credited class? Hopefully it will make your credited class easy next semester!

Porridge - It is meant to be yes, and that's what I'm keeping in mind, is that it will help me to be better prepared for the credited (and required for my major) course.

Waiting for a phone call or e-mail. Excited because it could be good news. Nervous because it could be bad. Gah!

:nono: ;(

Bad news. Dang. I don't know how bad it was yet but best case still sucks.

It isn't health related, so however bad it is we WILL get through it.

I'll know more later this afternoon when FI is able to tell me what happened. (work related and while it is something he is able to talk to me about, it would be in poor taste to do so around others since it has to do with evaluations)

Boo, we lost the kitty friendly rental house I talked about in my renting with cats thread.

I found a few things wrong during the final inspection (leaky faucet, rattling sound in the vent) and asked that they be fixed before we move in. We also asked permission to repaint to neutral colors since the main floor is bright orange and green (painted to match their "Fresh Prince of BelAir Sofa" that is electric blue with orange and green squares all over it!). Apparently the owners think we're problem tenants and don't want to rent to us anymore.

Back to the drawing board.

Sorry to hear that Chemgirl, good luck with the search - I'm sure the next one will be better.

seriously? I would consider repainting to neutral colors doing them a favor!

Exactly! They said they didn't want us to paint because they are planning to sell in a few years. I held my tongue, but really, neutral paint colors, my contemporary wood furniture, and my beige sofas are probably what a real estate agent would suggest to help sell the place.

ETA: I realized I sounded snotty about my stuff. My style is pretty neutral so I end up seeing my furniture in a lot of staged homes and condo units. I get color with area rugs and cushions. The rest sort of just blends together, which is what I think people respond best to when they're looking at buying a house.

Sorry... it happens so often these days. Simply sorry.

This is ridiculous. I'm cleaning out my closets and the goal is to get rid of everything I don't wear anymore. I was on a roll until I got to the hooded sweatshirts. I rarely wear *a* hooded sweatshirt, let alone the SIX that I have in my closet.
Yet, I'm having some trouble parting with them. It's a strange attachment I rarely have to things. Hmmm.

I have just discovered why I don't like dangly earrings on me, when I like dangly earrings just fine.

One of my ears sticks out more than the other, so one earring faces forward more and the other faces more toward the side. How completely annoying - and how in the world did I never notice this before?!

Lopsided ears are so cute on dogs

Well, it's not the worst thing in the world! Maybe you'll get used to it over time?

Ever have somebody you're not very close to open up and say things you wish they didn't?

A newly engaged acquaintance started talking about how he feels he missed out on his youth by staying with his highschool sweetheart and how he wishes he could go back and hook up with lots of random girls.

Well...bad news turned out to be just about as bad as it could get.

FI's manager has been getting pushed by HR to put him on a "performance plan" -- basically 6 months warning before being fired. He hasn't been put on one yet because his manager (and up a couple of levels) sees his project as extremely important (which it really is but he's doing stuff that is in a different (higher) official job title than he is currently assigned so his evaluation doesn't take it into consideration) BUT they can't hold off HR much longer so he has to get his project done ASAP and hope that someone (HR? management?) allow him to transfer to another group in the company.

If not...... I don't know. There are limited positions available for his level of experience and we live in one of the best areas for him to get another position so it isn't even a matter of moving to a better place.

Right now we're just focusing on him getting his project done and strengthening existing relationships with people in other groups who may be interested in his skills.

Him being out of work is NOT an option because my salary doesn't even cover 1/2 the mortgage (let alone other monthly bills on top!)

I don't know if this would work but my jeweler had to bend my right earwire of some of my dangly earrings because they didn't hang the same as the earrings in my left ear. That's due to my ear piercings not being exactly equal but that might help with your problem too Yssie. I would ask your jeweler about it and not bend yourself of course. It took him a bit of time and he knew exactly what to do and voila. They hang perfectly straight and equal now. Hope it works for you!

I'm so sorry TooPatient. I know how stressful being in that situation is and I am sending dust your way...I hope it all works out!

Hopefully his manager and others will go to bat for him. I hope all goes well in the next six months. I would also start socking away
money for "just in case".

Um I hope not, that didn't really occur to me at all until now. He's 5+ years younger than me so I doubt it? We were going in the same direction after an art exhibit so we split a cab. I asked him how the wedding planning was going to make conversation and he just started rambling.

I also feel bad for his fiance! I'm hoping its just stress due to all of the wedding stuff.
