I must be a super kook 'cause I like the squared off single prong the best. So you can see the whole curve of the half moon, unbroken ... as the single prong just sits in the part that would be 'straightish' anyway.
I know what you mean, Deco...the prongs almost give the sidestones the illusion of trapezoid-ish "corners"...

ETA: Of course, any prongs Leon does will be TEENSY and hardly noticeable...

i love the delicate look of 4 prongs on each of the 3 stones, as thin as possible w/out being dangerously thin, and without any of the prongs crossing each other. this was the best pic i could find, but it doesn''t have a good side view.
also, there''s one on the icestore website that is a cushion w/ half moons, and it''s light pink (huge) -- the setting is just beautiful:

Yowza, that''s it!!! Love it, thank you!!!!

I had the same trapizoid thought last night.... I think it almost would look better with 5 than with 3. But no matter what it will be pretty.

Oh Lisa I hope that you can get this prong issue all worked out with Leon so you can have your ring. Keep us posted on his response. I have to agree with you that I don''t care for the way he prefers to set them.

Thanks Sundial, that''s good to hear. I''m calling him tomorrow, so am keeping my fingers crossed!!! I promise to let you guys know what the verdict is. I am hopeful.

I''m betting he''ll be happy to do it they way you want, Lisa. After all, it is your ring!

Besides, he''s done it before: # r-089. (It''s the E/W EC....I''d lift it off his website if I knew how..)

Kaleigh, i just thought about another way, kind of mix of 4 prongs and 2 and a lip(?) for half-moons.
I just have no idea if this claw-split shank will appeal to Leon and the artist he is i would listen. Anyway please excuse a lame photoshop, it''s late.

Gosh Irina, that is really spot on. You underestimate your photoshop skills my friend. Thanks so much, I will tell him about this idea, could be a sort of a compromise?? It''s really pretty!!! I''ll let you know how it goes.

HI Kaleigh:

Here is a picture of the claws on my ring--altho the sides are traps. But they are delicate; not sure if this is the look you want. Hope you don''t mind me posting my ring picture

cheers--Sharon

Thanks Sharon!!! Gosh I love your ring!! I never got a chance to call Leon today, my daughter is still home from college. She''s going back tonight, so I''ll call Leon tomorrow. I am a big chicken about making that phone call. Hehe. But I promise to do it tomorrow.

I just got pics of the half moons from Leon. They are .63 tcw, D VS2''s. Here they are with my oval. The ring pic is one he sent me, as an example of what he''s done lately with half moons. My ring will not have pave. belle will post them for me, thanks belle!!!!

i do like the look of that ring. the diamonds look seamless. the prongs must be so very delicate and unobtrusive irl because you hardly even notice them in this pic!
very nice.

Hi:

Beautiful simply beautiful. Is this how your claws will appear, or did you discuss changes with him??

cheers--Sharon

Originally he said he didn''t love claw prongs for ovals but after seeing my stone, he said he can definitely see them for my ring. So I will most likely go for them, and the lip thingy doesn''t bother me anymore. Or that squared off prong as widget calls it. He said it''s the way to go and will be minimal.

Now be honest here. The half moon on the right doesn''t look as spherical as the one on the left. Could just be the picture, but I will ask tomorrow to be sure....

HI:

I think it could be the photo and the was the stones were "fashioned" to take the picture. Do you have the dimensions of each stone?

cheers--Sharon

but if you look at the points of where it doesn''t look ''spherical'' it is where there are bits of sparkle. there is no way leon mege is going to use a sub par diamond in one of his works of art. it is an illusion of the camera/photo due to the schparkleeez

HOLY CR@P.

They look gorgeous together in belle''s picture. I wouldn''t worry about the traps...with that much of a difference in the picture it''s got to be due to the angle of the shot. No way Leon would try to pass off mismatched sidestones.

Just when I think it couldn''t get better, it does! That is going to be stunning! Any idea how long this will take?

This is going to be one AMAZING ring--those stones look perfect together!

Thanks FireGoddess, belle, Mokey and Dee*Jay!! I have to chat with him tomorrow and will ask him how long it will take to make. I figure 4-6 weeks but maybe since I''m not doing pave it will be less... One can hope at least!!

Kaleigh, this is going to be the most beautiful ring ever! I can''t belive how excited I am for someone I don''t even know! I just think you have excellent taste and I can''t wait to see how the finished product turns out and hear about how happy you are with it.

Wow this is going to be one drop dead gorgeous ring!!! I''m glad that you got the details worked out with Leon and hopefully the time frame won''t be too long. At any rate it will undoubtedly be worth the wait. Keep us posted.

That''s just so sweet, thanks!!! I am super excited and am counting down the days till I get it!!

Thanks MMM, Sundial and Annie!!

One last question, claw prongs on the oval or single?? The ring posted is not an oval but a cushion. I could go either way. What say you???
