I ordered my dress!

Ok, I know I''ve been posting about this dress for months like it was actually mine. But I''m such a chicken that I never got around to actually putting the order in. Especially with the drama about hollow-to-hem, etc. Well, I finally did it today! Jim Hjelm #8663 should be arriving in about 3 months or so!

I LOVE THAT DRESS! IT WAS MY FAV THAT I TRIED ON! The only problem was that I have had open-heart surgery and a nice large scare down my chest to prove it....and the dress neckline displays it too much for my comfort

I ordered it in ivory/champagne (ivory lace with champagne underlay - it''s not really all that dark but I think it makes the pattern of the lace stand out more), with the sash in "creme" which is a slightly darker champagne-y color. I might change out the sash for something more blingy for the reception, but we''ll see.

I did do the custom hollow-to-hem. I got myself measured and then I measured myself literally about 10 times. Then I ended up adding an extra .75 inches cause the bridal shop said it seemed really short. I hope it doesn''t end up too long.

I picked this dress out in April, but waited to order it until now. Cause I''m a chicken when making decisions, even though in the back of my mind, this was always the dress I envisioned myself wearing. A girl on the knot who ordered this dress from the same store got hers in a little under 3 months, so I am hopeful that it will come around that timeframe!

I ordered my Jim Hjelm lace gown in the same colors...You can see pics on my wedding thread. I love the color and agree it is not that dark at all, especially in photos with flash!!!! CONGRATS AGAIN ON GETTTING THE GOWN! BIG RELIEF HUH?!
