Ideas for my new JW seafoam tourmaline?

Wow that is sooooome colour! Divine!

That stone is beautiful, and I think the others have given you some great setting ideas. I'm so glad a PSer got this because now I get to see more picts!

Me too!!

And this isn't a PS'er that promises photos and doesn't deliver, this is one heck of a picture taker!!

YAY Uppy! Congratulations, what a beautiful stone. I really like the one VL posted, if it is in your budget.... AND, it might be worth saving for, if it isn't :errrr:

I think it will be a "saving for" project for sure! I'd love to have a beautiful three stone in platinum.

I totally agree, you have your beautiful new Mahenge to keep you company for now, so saving for the perfect setting for this beauty might :appl: be doable.

Hi Uppy! :wavey:

This is a gorgeous gemstone and I'm looking forward to seeing how you set it!!! I can't wait to see your photos of it once you have it in hand!

Lori

THIS! Oh wow! I liked the idea of it as a three stone, but I ADORE the stepcut traps!!!!

I am glad you scooped it. Frankly, it looked much less saturated in Jeff's pictures so it did not capture my attention. It seems to look much better in your pics.

I would opt for a plain setting, I do not see it in diamonds, I agree with TL that diamonds will take away attention from this stone. I'd opt for Daniel M.'s setting, and I see this stone in WG.

I got a quote from DBL for this ring. Now I just have to save my pennies!!

I love that ring and the tourmaline would look great in it. I think the stepcut sides will be just the right touch - not too blingy to compete with the center stone but accent and support it.

My stone is the same length as the DBL shown, but it is just under 2x the width. I can't wait to get it in hand and examine what I think will really compliment it!

So you are the lucky buyer! I can’t wait to see one million pictures of it.

Yummy!!!!! I cant wait to see what you do with it, I am loving the three stone idea with traps or half moons

This will go to the top of my favorites list...I can't wait to see it!!!!!

So, I'll have to limit myself?

oh lovely cushion yummyiness!!

I picked up the stone from the PO late this afternoon, and it is gorgeous!! Jeff was correct in that the tone is lighter IRL, but the cut and dispersion make up for it. I was so thrilled with it that OUPeargirl and I went trolling for settings, and I found the PERFECT one at a local B&M. It is a platinum mount, about 4mm wide with a knife edge that swoops up to bezel the end of 2 step cut bullet diamonds. The bullets weigh .62ctw. The stone is then set above them in a four prong basket. It has all of the features I was hoping for, and I was actually able to see the stone and KNOW that it will be perfect. Now I've got it on layaway, which ought to take about 4-6 months to pay off due to my current state of poverty.

I'll get pictures for you (since I know so many of you are waiting) as soon as I can.

Wow, that's really exciting, Uppy!! It sound's lovely - can't wait to see your pics!

Yipee, the stone is a keeper. Can't wait to see your pics.

Where are the photos, missy? You've had the tourmaline at least half an hour and I am waiting....

I worked all day today. I'll get some posted by tomorrow, okay? You KNOW my word is good, especially regarding pictures.

And I like your 3 stone ring idea

Sounds absolutely awesome! :cheeky:

As the stone is slightly angular, how about trilliants? If you turn the stone N/S then there's a small point at each side (in the middle), that would be echoed by the trilliant's point. Then you could either have a pave or plain shank.

I can't wait to see your photos as it's very pretty.

ETA: Whoops - should have read all the posts! Congrats on the new setting and I love bullets.

Uppy, I can't wait to see RL pics of it! I'm talking to Jeff to cut it's twin because I've been after a seafoam tourmaline since I first saw BEG's and yours just made it WORSE! LOL

So happy that you've already found the perfect setting for it. I need to take some of my gems to some of the places in the WTC to see if they have something magical like the setting you've snagged!

Oh this stone is so beautiful IRL. It's the exact color of Uppy's eyes!

She couldn't have picked a better setting, it's gorgeous.
