Ideas please...........

Hello All, I have been looking and, hopefully, learning on this great site. I am thinking of taking my first plunge into buying online and I would like some advice, criticism........whatever. Since diamonds are a little out of reach for me I have been looking at gem stones and I have found one I would like opinions on. Hope I can post this photo. What do you think of this stone? I know it is pretty pale, but that is what appeals to me about it. It is a 2.18 ct Afgan Tourmaline. Opinions?????? Thanks in advance. Sundragon

I''ve admired this setting for a while, and it would make the ring look like a pink diamond. Maybe you could get brian to make it with rose gold prongs around the center stone.

Well, with your encouragement I pulled the trigger. I hope it''s as pretty as it looks on my computer, although not as big!!!!!!!! Yes, the stone is from Dan Stairs. How did you know? Does he do good work? He seems very nice and all his other stones look beautiful. I am still not sure about the setting though. All my other rings are yellow gold. I''m not too sure how it would look in yellow gold but I''m not sure I want to go with white gold except around the stone itself. I love the setting you suggested kcoursolle, but I don''t know if that is me. I asked Dan about a tension mounting for this stone and he suggested either another stone or something with hidden prongs but with a tension type setting. Have either of you seen such a setting? I recognize the stone from Dan''s web site! LOL! I have purchased twice (one spinel and one sapphire) from Dan. He is great and his stones are beautiful.

I have yet to do anything with the spinel. And I just posted new photos of it thanks to having purchased a new camera. I am currently in the process of resetting my e-ring diamond. It is my hope that my sapphire can be placed in the original setting. We''ll see what happens!
