Last year I bought a pair of beautiful studs from Yekutiel at IDJ - they were .90 ctw, E SI H&A stones. They were lovely and much better than my former studs that I bought pre-PS. I knew they wouldn't be my forever size and of course DSS set in quickly so I was already thinking about upgrading them in the fall. I took my time, though, and Yekutiel the saint was very patient with me (as always) while I debated whether I would go for .70's or .80's. Fortunately for me, when I brought the dilemma up to DH he said to go for the bigger ones (bless his heart!!!) so I wouldn't feel the need to upgrade again (HAA, YEA RIGHT...right PSers???) although he nearly choked when I showed him all of my 'envelopes' at IDJ!!
I should also say that I consider myself to be color sensitive in larger stones...but after seeing Pinto Bean's K's and how white and bright they were, I really felt comfortable softening a bit on color to gain in size! The hunt was on but finally after combing through SO many stones, I found an amazing match that fit my criteria and budget!!
Stone 1:
.80 H SI1 (5.93 x 5.94 x 3.69)
T: 57 D: 62.1 CA: 35 PA: 40.8
Stone 2:
.80 I SI1 (5.90 x 5.95 x 3.67)
T: 56 D: 61.9 CA: 35 PA: 40.6
Both are GIA, very white, 100% eye clean with no fluorescence (I was hoping to find studs with but it wasn't in the cards). I absolutely LOVE them....Yekutiel did a great job setting them in low 4-prong baskets with pretty eagle claws and I got jumbo backs this time around. He's the strapping young lad in the background of one of my pictures
And now here they are!! I've also included a comparison shot with the first pair...it's not a great picture but you could see the size difference.
