I am starting a hopefully fun thread. If money was no object, what gemstone would you buy?

Well, I''d probably get some huge green diamond of some sort.

Or some of those famous old OLD diamonds like the Eygyption one (did I spell that right?).

I can't choose one gem!

My list is a mile long--and I'd probably start by collecting more garnets anyway--creature of habit.

ok, maybe I'd start with a big old mine cut--from the old Golconda region.

Spinel (red).
Ruby.
Amethyst.

Diamond (H or even less "white").
Pearls (South Seas, various colors).

First on my list, though, would be a very large and very, very fine emerald. Emeralds were my first gemstone love.

1. A 2ct or bigger Bixbite with exceptional clarity! (No hope of finding that I think)
2. A 2ct or bigger red diamond (natural not irradiated).
3. A 2ct or bigger pink diamond (natural not irradiated).

Hate to repeat, but natural fancy vivid red, internally flawless diamond is number one for me lol. Second would be a 10 carat or larger Alexandrite, perfect in every way. Have pretty much everything else lol.

Ooh fun!

I'd probably get two of the cartier love bracelets, one in white gold with diamonds and one in rose gold w/out diamonds.

...and a pair of .8ctw (or so) bezeled diamonds studs, a 2mm Lucida platinum band, and a really beautiful antique diamond watch. That's it!

In the future, I'd get some stacking rings for special anniversaries and births of children, but I don't really want anything else jewelry-related!

Oh yeah, that made me remember the other thing I would get. A natural blue diamond.

Ohh the list is long!

A tsavorite, a paraiba, and a malaya. A yellow sapphire and a bright blue unheated sapphire. An alexandrite. And there are definitely a few more - this is what I''m remembering off the top of my head.

As for jewelry? I want a Cartier rolling ring! (I''m a trend follow

) and a vintage-style eternity from Single Stone (alternating blue sapphires and diamonds). And a vintage-style eternity with pink diamonds...in rose gold.

And to finish all of my pending projects!!
