How come everybody''s getting all of RW''s Pads? I want one... or seven... thirty-eight!?!

easy...the Hope diamond.

Yep, the Rockefeller for me too but since it''s taken I''ll go for this

http://www.theofennell.com/

but just as an entree

I''d buy a small red diamond about .3 carats. :) It doesn''t have to be huge..

I really, really wanted to get my list down to one outstanding gem. Fat chance

So I managed to restrict myself to three, as a very painful experience

2ct neon blue paraiba (perhaps an excellent cabochon)
Fine, glowing red ruby
A pad

(I''m sorry, red spinel, pink diamond, kashmir sapphire, black opal, but you just didn´t make it. Sniff...)

I''d go on a world gem tour, and buy to my heart''s content.
DITTO!

I'd also buy the entire annual Argyle pink tender. These are the most coveted diamonds in the industry that come out each year. They sometimes throw in a nice violet, fancy red, or blue stone in those. I would definitely get all the violet diamonds I could find.

Oh, and I would give anything to have Elizabeth Taylor's ruby ring that Richard Burton gave to her. The finest ruby I've ever seen. I don't think she would part with that though.

Okay, I have to stop posting to this thread.

Can''t stop because I''m packing my bags for the world trip with Coati ............. but in the meantime, I think I''d take just about anything featured in Elizabeth Taylor''s book (given to me for Christmas). Serious amounts of eye candy and an Asscher and Pear to die for!

I have that book, and it also has her ruby ring!!

haha! I too got the book for Christmas--year before last.

I''ll bring the book on our tour--we''ll need eye candy on the plane.

Coati I''ve got a few more too BUT I''m thinking we''re only going to have room for a very small bikini if we carry on! Not sure that a bikini is good gemstone shopping attire - where would we put the money?

hahaha! ok ok--enough books.

The color is way off in that pictures (looks too brownish red), but thanks for scanning it in!! Supposedly Richard Burton, who had a ton more patience than I do, searched for years to come up with the perfect blood red ruby for Elizabeth Taylor. It was very important to him to find her the perfect ruby because the stone represents Wales (if I remember correctly).

HI:

Marvellous nonetheless--thanks for the effort Miss Coati!!

I think I need one of those....

cheers--Sharon

Ok...maybe I want one of these.

Paraiba toumaline with pink diamonds. But I want other things, not just this one...

xxxparadiamond.jpg

I like the colour combination, but the cut on the paraiba and those prongs are killing me.

They are HUGE!! I didn''t notice that.

Band of sapphires and diamonds, curved, to go with a ring I already own.
A large-ish (maybe 6-7mm) cushion cut bright red something or other. I''m not a gemstone freak so I''m not terribly bothered if it''s a ruby or spinal, just that it''s large and red.

A very clear pigeon blood untreated ruby from Burma please. No less than two carats. I''ll also have a sapphire JUST LIKE Lost Sapphire''s blueberry, and maybe a really vived yellow one as well. I''d also like a sizeable D IF emerald cut diamond, and a very large, very very warm colored OEC. Oh yeah, and a brightly colored pear of any kind in a diamond halo. And an asscher aqua.
