Hi lovely girls!!

Been lurking for some weeks now and posted tiny messages already, but guess it would be best to do a proper intro, as my wedding is in August, so I'll be joining you for quite a while I guess

Well, as my nick suggested, I'm a Dutch gal, living in the Netherlands (never heard of that country, no problem! it's a tiny country in Europe, most known for our capital city Amsterdam

). My BF and I are big US lovers, try go there a couple of times a year -specially Vegas haha

-. Got some family in OC, so love to visit them as well!

My BF proposed to me Dec 17 2006 in the Valley of Fire (NV). Got my a lovely ering from Tif &co. And as we initially planned for a wedding last December, we rescheduled it to August 20, 2008.
I'm part Dutch and Indonesian, and so we're going to have a DW in Bali, Indonesia.

Not very fond of all the Dutch wedding traditions, I'm getting a lot of inspiration from all these lovely magazines and stuff from the US and forums like these!

Thanks already for all the great things you've been posting up here!

After my trip to the US where I went dress shopping in Vegas, I decided to do a lot of dress hunting back home. Couldn't find the thing I wanted, as I'm not a big dress girl (sorry no offense), I think it looks lovely to everybody, but it just doesn't fit me. Plus being in a very humid country, I have to have a very airy and light weighted dress. So December I went back to Vegas and finally ordered a Vera Wang dress I've been fancying from the beginning. I will post the pics later!

Being a very greedy bridezilla

I wanted to upgrade my ering as well, so I did some great shopping on my last vacation haha!!! Unfortunately that means that we have to live on water and bread for the next 8 months

Well, just got so much more to tell (invitations will be printed next week, honeymoon stuff ugghhh too much to tell, but I will keep it to my little story up here

First pic of my Vera Wang, don''t have good pics of myself in the dress, as I''m currently still way too heavy, and the dress in the salon was a size 8, which I unfortunately don''t fit

Found this one on the web, but it gives you a good idea of the dress (without the sash)

So, that''s it for now, got a lot of stuff narrowed down now. got my bridal jewelry, but I''m still looking for the shoes, kinda need to think about that, cause it will be very hot and humid, so my feet will probably swell like crazy. Still don''t know if I should go in heels, flats or fancy flip flops. What would you girls do??

I vote for some kind of heel, even if it''s a kitten heel...you could always have a pair of flats or flips-flops to change into.

Welcome Dutchgirl! Congratulations on your engagement! Your dress and e-ring are both lovely! Can''t wait to hear more about your plans. Also, I''d love to hear more about Dutch wedding traditions. My FI is dutch, and I''d love to incorporate some traditions into our wedding!

Hi Dutchgirl!

Your ering is beautiful. I love the elegance of a solitaire... beautiful and timeless!

I love your dress. I had tried on that Vera Wang when I was dress shopping and it was definitely one of my favorites. It will be perfect for your DW.

Congrats on your engagement and welcome to PS!

Hi DutchGirl, it sounds like you are on track with your planning... much more than I can say. To answer your question about shoes, I think you should wear what makes you look and feel the best. My friend wore 6inch heels to her wedding because she didn''t want to look short in her gown. My other friend wore ballet flats. It all depends on your personal preference. I would wear heels and have a lower, more comfortable option just in case my feet hurt and i want to dance with out killing my feet.

Welcome
