Let me tell you a little bit about me & my OH...
We used to go out with each other when we were 16 (we're 29 now!) and we were each other's first love. Like most first love's, they don't last and after a year and a half we went our separate ways.
10 years later (and with the help of Facebook!) we were reunited and started dating again. That was 3 years ago and in the past 6 months we've talked more and more about getting married.
Just a little note here; I'm a Wedding Photographer in my spare time and have been building my little business steadily over the past couple of years. My OH always comes with me and does the organisation which he does so well, and more recently he has even been picking up my 2nd camera to shoot with!...
At the end of October last year we were driving home from meeting a couple for their pre-wedding run through. I mentioned the fact that the bride & groom-to-be had been engaged for 2 1/2 years. I said I wouldn't mind a long engagement which he replied jokingly with "well, if you paid me for my photography work then maybe we could make it happen!" The rest of the journey home we acted like little children, giggling and going through provisos. (I said that he had to propose by the end of 2012!)
Since then I've picked out my ring (at his request!), a beautiful compass-set princess cut solitaire (hence my username!) and it's been ordered!
Now.... this is where I get to why I'm here...
He's said that he'd like me to keep the weekend of the 4th & 5th August free (as it's wedding season it needed to be planned in case we had any photography bookings). Fine, I can wait till then. WRONG!!!! I think I'm driving myself slowly mad thinking about it (I'm not a very patient person!) and I'm also a bit suspicious about a date he's put aside in March to go for a romantic walk up a local mountain that has a lot of sentimental value for us.
Anyway, I'm hoping that joining this site will keep me sane and I can vent any of my suspicious ramblings to you guys. Oh, another thing to add is that this is a big massive secret - I think he's told he best friend and his parents, but that's it - and obviously, I'm not meant to know so I can't talk to any of my girlfriends about it...ahhhhh!!!!!
