Hello everyone!
I have been reading Pricescope for almost a year now, and I think I have held off long enough and should finally introduce myself. My name is Kathleen and I am from Boston, MA. My Mr. LIW and I have been together for almost 2 years, offically will be 12/29/07, and we recently moved in together. We are both 24 years old and have graduated from college. He has been in the workforce for over 2 years and I just started a full time position about a month and a half ago. I am planning on going back to school in January to start my MBA. We met at a bar, however, two of our close friends who were dating in college tried setting us up before we met. I was unsure and getting over a break up at the time and decided not to go on the blind date. Our friends broke up and our chances of meeting up were slim, however, he randomly introduced himself to me at bar, both of us not knowing that we were supposed to meet through our friends before, and we were on cloud 11 ever since. It was fate.
We have talked about marriage and we both know that we want to spend the rest of our lives together. Moving in has been amazing, and it has confirmed that we do intend to take that next step. Our timeline is that we hope to be married in the summer of 2010. He wants to get engaged when he turns 25, which will be 7/08, and I want to get engaged after we have been together for 3 years, so that will put us around 12/08, however if he pops the question before the 3 year mark I would definitely say, yes, haha!
I love diamonds and one of my favorite things is to look at the Show Me the Ring folder and try and figure out what I would love to have on my finger. My Mr. LIW''s mom and I went to "try on diamonds" together a couple weekends ago and some of the styles that I loved on the computer didn''t look as great as I thought it would. Her favorite was a 3 stone Emerald cut ring with a center canary diamond and two smaller white diamonds on the sides. My favorite was a round cut in a classic setting with two baguettes on the sides. She was so excited and was saying things like, "Wouldn''t it be nice to get engaged on the day you met, it would be sooooo romantic." Haha, I was laughing so hard, she is too cute. Also, my Mr. LIW is a twin and his grandmother inherited a huge rock from her mother when she passed. I need to find out what kind of cut it is, because it might be an OEC or an OMC!! However, she is planning on selling the rock and giving each boy half of the money to buy an engagement ring for his future wife. I think that is sooooo nice and it will definitely give me a bigger chance of getting a ring that I will love forever and ever. I do not want to upgrade so I am looking for about a 1.7-2 carat rock, and my ring size is btwn a 6.5 and a 7. I definitely need to check out more styles because the B&M store that I went to had limited settings. My favorites on this site are October2008Bride, she has a rosebud setting with a round cut, and Firegoddess''s which is a pear cut in a halo setting (I would like a combination of hers and Katherine Heigl''s). I am all about the pave! So, I am exciting to try on more rings! Does anybody live in the Boston area and know of a great place to go and try on a wide selection of settings?
Right now we are enjoying our apartment together. Making home improvement trips to Target, Pier One and Home Depot, we have started running together after work, cooking dinner together practically every night, and we recently joined Netflicks so that has been exciting. I absolutely love my life right now and I couldn''t be more happy.
Can''t wait for the ride girls!
