Hello, I thought I would introduce myself properly before I start running around this forum asking questions.

I''m a LIW in SoCal, and have been with my BF for more than 2 years. BF asked for my dad''s permission on New Year''s Eve, and as far as my family is concerned we are engaged already. BF wants to do it properly with a ring, so here we are, spending agonizing time (for me at least...Gimme a key ring and I''ll say yes!!) looking for a ring.

I''ve been secretly lurking on this forum for a while, and it has been extremely helpful. I''ve actually found some jewelers thanks to this page. I would like to say, thank you for the help so far, and I hope I''ll be as useful to others as well!

We are doing a design of my own based on a ring a found online. This was not my BF's plan at first (It was a complete misunderstanding on my part), but he has warmed up to the idea now. We are now looking for a jeweler, but this is proving to be harder than I thought. Our friends recommended us to a jeweler that they used, and it turned out to be a vendor in a Jewelry Mart! No offense, but we just couldn't trust them with my design.
We will probably lock down on the maker this weekend, and then it will be about a month or two to make right? So...Loooooooong

Yeah, I suppose I'll be happier this way than a key ring

, but I'm so impatient! Especially since I want a kid before I'm 30...(I'm 27 now). I'll definitely post pictures when it happens.

This forum has helped me a LOT! I read a lot of frustration topics and it really helps me to know that I'm not the only one with a BF that seems to move at the speed of a snail.
