Since we both already have the same last name, is it "weird" that our last name is listed twice:

eg:

The parents....invite you .. to the wedding of our children:

John Smith & Mary Smith

Or should it state: John and Mary Smith?

I think you should include your last name twice. Otherwise, it looks a little like you ran off and already got married!

Why not omit your last name and use your full names?

parents, invite you, wedding of their children

Amanda Jane
and
Michael Thomas

no list them twice..
technically.. your last name doesn''t even go where you are putting it if the parents are doing the inviting..

It would be
Mr and Mrs Bob Smith (your parents)
and
Mr and Mrs George Smith (his parents)
invite you to the marriage of thier children
Jane Elizabeth
to
John Joseph
(no last names.. jsut first and middle)

thats the proper wording for an invite anyway.. and it doesn''t seem as obvious that your names are the same.

Thanks ya'll....I just realized, I dont need to list them!! we'll just list our first names since the last names will already be listed via our parents! Sweet! This was one quickly solved problem. ;)

That is so CONVENIENT!!

:)
