Totally random question as I''m getting ready to assemble and address my invites (yay!). Which way do I face the inner envelope inside the outer envelope? Should they both be facing the same way or should the inner envelope be facing the flap of the outer? Make sense? Thanks!

i''m not an etiquette guru, but I think the names face the flap. so when you open the outer envelope and pull out the inner you are looking at the names. does that make sense? I know in thank you notes you put the front facing the flap, so that is my rationale.

Thanks Lala!! Can anyone else back this up? Thanks!

Yup, Martha Stewart can!

"Insert everything into the inner envelope—if you’re using one— with the print side up; so that when guests open the envelopes they will see the lettering. (The same rules apply with a single-fold invitation, where the print appears on the front. For a French-fold, or double-fold, invitation, which has the print inside, all enclosures go inside the card.) Slip the unsealed inner envelope into the outer envelope with the names facing the back flap"

Awesome, thank you!

When you face the outer envelope away from yourself to open, then you should read your names as you pull the inner envelope out. I think I have a picture of an example.

It should pull out like this:
