I just got a proof of our invitations. we went the simple route. we''re having the invitation and then including a reply card and printed return envelope. fiancee and i are going to self print a little card that has a map/directions on the front and accomodations on the back to save $$$. my FMIL has really wonderful handwriting so possibly she''s going to hand address them, because we computer printed the address on our STDs and the ink didn''t adhere very well to this kind of paper???

Very pretty.
I think hand addressed envelopes are nicer anyhow!

Oh Lulu they look beautiful!!!

Hehe, also, June 8th is my birthday, and we''re getting married right across the lake from Vermont (prob. with mostly Vermont vendors), so your invitation is very happy all around for me!

I think that would be great if she could hand address the envelopes! I''m thinking we''ll do it ourselves but we don''t have very good handwriting

, so consider yourself very fortunate there!

thanks guys,

i agree that hand addressed envelopes are much nicer, but like you albi, my handwriting is not that nice or even. i hardly ever write in script and i think now is not the time to start.

I would love it if FMIL would do them, but we are in sort of a time crunch (LADIES GET YOUR INVITES WELL AHEAD OF TIME) so we''ll see what happens

How many invites is she going to have to address? Can you invite her over for a nice fancy lunch, give her a hand massage (with lotion!), let her address for a while, give her another hand massage, make her some tea, repeat?

It''s going to be about 115 invites

so, she may need a few hand massages

Oh lulu, they look great!! Very pretty.

Regarding printing the addresses from the computer, we had the problem you had with the ink not sticking to the envelopes. I guess you have to make sure your paper is compatible with laser jet printers. Well obviously ours wasn't and I went into full panic mode of course! But then we went to an art supply store and bought this spray stuff that people use when they work with pastels, pencil, etc. It sets the ink into the paper. So we bought a can of that and sprayed all our envelopes (after printing them) and it worked! So if your FMIL can't do all the envelopes by hand, you still have this option. Just make sure you use the spray in a well ventilated room--it's like spray paint and the fumes are harsh!!

curlygirl!!!!

thanks so much for that solution. it''s very ingenious!

ps: you need to post some more pics of your beautiful wedding

Hehe, also, June 8th is my birthday,
June 8 is also my fiance''s birthday AND my brother''s birthday (they were born on the exact same day - my fiance is older by a few hours)! Very lovely invitations, by the way.
