I know it is way too early to be thinking about this, but I am and I want your advice/help/inspiration. I really don''t want to spend a crazy amount of money, so if we could keep it under about $800 total that''d be great. So, where did you get/are you getting yours (DIYs included)? Any good priced-sites? If you don''t mind can you post a pic or review, too!

I'm ordering around 60 invitations (about 80 guests plus some extra invites). My cost is in the $600 range, this includes, RSVP envelopes, two insert cards (one for rsvp, one for information), I'm using BLUE ribbon and not the white ribbon you see in the photo. Also she's going to print the address of each guest on the outer envelope (envelope is the same color as the invite) in the same font you see in the invitation, that's all included in the cost. Oh and the cutest part is that the lining in the envelope will match the pink swirly paper you see in the background of the invitation. I requested that the invite card be attached to the petal as opposed to loose. You can do it either way.

http://maybe.com/wedding/invitations.jpg (this is a sample invite, none of my info is on that)

This is who's doing them:

Wedding paper divas is quite popular. It's funny, they are located in my town but they don't have a showroom so I have to order samples like everyone else. Personally I wanted something a bit fancier for my wedding with more components to it then just a card and an envelope. I've ordered quite a few samples from them... none of them were my style per se. They're still a good company though.

I really like the ones that you picked. I don't think I've seen them before. They're very nice though.

I''m still trying to price and decide on invites too! I love the one you picked. That type of invitation would be expensive to DIY since the ink could get expensive

Mine were from invitesite.com I couldn''t be happier with the quality, the excellent service, AND the price ($3.50 each including the RSVP card). Practically EVERY guest has complimented the invitations.

So, highly recommended. Plus, they were fun to put together.

Have you guys decided how big your wedding will be? Determining cost depends on how many invites you need. And it might help to know what colors you want... Prices get funky, what you think is cheaper, might only be cheaper by purchasing at one rate (starts at ___ means if you are ordering 500 sometimes). I found it easiest to set up a spreadsheet to figure out what the cost really was for my number needed as price breaks were different for every company.

In terms of customer service and quality goods, I really love our invites from invitations by dawn. Sounds super cheezy (and some invites are just awful on the site) and the lady who called me 2xs (because she kept entering my amex number wrong and wanted me to be sure I only wanted a date on the rsvp card and not M________) was ancient with a Jersey accent. She was just too cute! Even with the calls, their time from order to me getting them was 5 days. And, when I called to find out if I could use an online coupon for 15% off, another ancient woman with a Jersey accent told me (in hushed tones) that there was another coupon out there for 20% off and she would just give me that one since weddings are just so expensive). I mean OLD SCHOOL excellent customer service here.

220 invites with envelope, respond card and envelope and direction card were $518 and they only cost a regular stamp to send because they are light and rectangular. I''m a stationary addict so wanted super heavy cardstock and was upset when realizing how expensive it would be (esp to invite the 110 people my FIL surprised me with) so went with textured (recycled) watercolor paper. Yeah earth!
I liked the dogwood for a tennessee springtime garden wedding and everyone has raved about them.
Cost per invite: $2.35 plus of course 2 regular stamps for the 2 envelopes. Enjoy the hunt!

Wow thanks for the ideas already I am excited!! Everyone has beautiful invitations. I am trying to cut the guest list more and more and more. But our max out is about 150 invited. I didn''t know that about the "starts at" rate, man that could add up fast!

I think I got a catalog from invitations by dawn! I will look for it.

I made my invitations myself! I utilized my graphic designing... =)

ordered all my paper from: paperandmore.com they are amazing in quality and fast delivery. and i couldn''t find anything cheaper in the stores over here.

my invitations are long and fit into a #10 envelope. i have a dark navy blue pearlescent metallic cardstock backing and a white pearlescent metallic regular paper top with the wording on it. the response cards were postcards printed on heavy white pearlescent metallic cardstock. I printed everything at work (just pay them back for the cost of printing) and got them cut at a local printers. then my girlfriends and i had a party and made all the invitations! the envelopes matched the white paper.

i''ll have to take a picture of my invitations and post them up. =) it was a lot of fun, and ridiculously cheaper than getting them done at a store. it only cost us approx. $200 for 160 invitations, postage, paper, printing and envelopes included.

Can''t wait to see the photos!

I got lucky cuz FSIL has a graphic designer friend who owes her a favor, so I went ahead and bought some pochettes from Paper Presentations. Not sure how much this guy will charge us, but we are getting the invite, response card, and a map in each, I''m hoping to keep it under $300 for 120 sets of all three. Just emailed the graphic designer to see where he is with my invites, it''s been over 2 weeks!!! Will def post pics when I get them.

Courtney. Make a list for the invitations. We are inviting 90, but only need 56 invites total as most are couples. You may end up needing a LOT less invites than you thought.

Oh I hadn''t thought of that!!! Wow, thanks for bringing that up.

Sorry for calling you Courtney, Sarah.

No problem! I get tired of having such a common name sometimes anyway.

It''s a pretty name though. And most people get it right.

You wouldn''t believe the things people come up with for Layla.

Aww! I like the name Layla oh and I like Lola too.

Lola. Two words Copa Cabbana. As someone who has had to deal with Eric Clapton all her life. Don''t do it to you kids. The only name that I think is worse is Roxanne.

Oh, come on EILEEN....

here''s a picture collage of what our invitations look like. =)

Beautiful!!

Maybe I should try to DIY! I''m not a graphic designer, though. Did you use Photoshop or something like that?

i use Adobe inDesign. You could try to use Photoshop though! I''m sure you could make equally beautiful invitations.

I don''t have it though.

I don''t have photoshop either past 7, so expense. Just elements.

yeah that''s the only downer... the cost of the program! try it out on photoshop though! you can improvise different tools and features. =)

i made 3 invitations on one letter sheet size of paper. just format the sheet to be landscape and divide it into three even columns. keep in mind that if you do a matting in the back, to make the top invitation wording part smaller in margin than the matting. goes for any size invitation.

Thanks for the tips!

I used Daisy-Days and had a great experience. They had excellent customer service. I ordered the main invite and RSVP cards (gorgeous envelopes included) from them and then made booklets with sheets of additional information. I don''t have pictures, but the invites would have looked pretty tacky if I didn''t have the nice quality invite for the front of my booklet. I used one of the recycled paper designs like swimmer posted. I really liked the texture and how I had pretty raised sand dollars on the invite (it is the Sand Dollars and Sunrises design). Very reasonably priced with the online ordering discount they offer.

Awesome! I will check them out.
