One of my favorite reads is RiverBend. She blogs from Baghdad, and her comments always provide a perspective that is both genuine and heartfelt and totally missing from US media, which is basically:

CorporateUSAWeAreAllAmericansButThoseWhoDoNotBuyOurProductsAreEnemiesAndTheyMustBeWiipedOutAndTheirProgenyPoisoned.

Did I create a run-on sentence there? My apologies. I hate it when writers attempt to make a political point using too many letters.

Below is RiverBend's latest post. Some may enjoy, others not. Oh well...

And the Oscar Goes to...

«Bush’s nomination comes for his convincing portrayal as the worlds first mentally challenged president.»

Well, I take exception there for several reasons. It''s not a portrayal, and there were many other mentally challenged presidents before him, in many other countries as well as the USA.

Guess RiverBend will have to broaden her Oscars. But we should cut her some slack. She only gets electricity a few hours a day, so it''s tough to keep up with world history.
