Is a re-size possible from 6 down to 3 3/4?

I need to get this Tiffany Ring re-sized and I've just realised to my horror that the Tiffany signatures will be compromised.

Secondly, I'm wondering about the channel set square cut diamonds. Can anyone tell me if it's actually possible to re-size this ring from 6 down to 3 3/4?

I'm gonna say no. The shape will change and it would loosen the side stones. Beautiful ring though.

yeah, even a plain shank would get out of round sizing down that much. I do not think this is possible. Sorry.

Agreed, it would be pretty tricky -- but you could still try to contact Tiff's directly. Maybe they can work a small miracle.

Could it be sized at all? Maybe one size or so? If so, then maybe you could add sizing beads to make up the rest?
I'd do what I had to to wear that beauty.

Yes - I was thinking maybe a sizing plus sizing bead combo!

Ages ago, I had a half diamond band that was similar that needed resizing down less than that and everyone refused to do it because they said that the stones could pop out the sides because they have to bend the sides to fit, not just remove a piece from the bottom....

I agree you need to contact them or a reliable jeweller (although if someone else does it then it voids any Tiffany warranty and they will not touch it afterwards) and see what can be done with a combination of making it smaller and sizing beads or a piece that goes into the ring to make it smaller... if it is still too big then you either need to wear it on a different finger or get a refund.

I think you are talking about too much of a size difference to do a great job and removing the Tiffany stamps will also decrease the value of the ring.

My answer is also no. But Tiffany may remake the setting in your size for a price. So you need to contact them. Never have a signed piece worked on by anyone but the maker, even sizing.

I recall anoter PSer had a new setting made by Tiffany for her Tiffany diamond at one point... so it seems likely they could reuse the diamonds in this mount to make the ring in your size. For a bundle of $$$ of course.
