I would think not.
You could just have the “U” shape as the base for the prongs but seeing as you are doing double prongs the “U“ might need to be thicker to split off into the double prongs at each end.
I think it's gorgeous but definitely needs the base under the sections. I also think double prongs on 5 stones is too many. I hope you don't give up!
I think the size is perfect on your hand haha. I have a 5 stone suite with a smaller center/same size sides and just might copy that first CAD.
I love the cad and how similar rings look on other people but on my own hand it was a no go. I do want to see yours if you do it though!
I loved the cad but it’s clearly too big on hand.
I don’t want to reset this a 4th time and not love it. Too bad the vendor we bought from closed down, I would rather just trade up
Im sure you'd get used to it.
Its rare i think a ring is too big but it did swamp your hand
maybe it was just the wax and sparkle and fire would be different
If you really are canning it and might not go for the 4th resetting quickly dream up another fabulous project so you have something spectacular to look forward to
yes, I think it looks a bit big on the hand too. At least, the wax looks it to me. But I don't like it when the setting creeps down the side of my finger so that I feel it when my fingers are all together. That might not bother others. I'd have to go look for your other three settings to see what you have already done. But I'm with you, if you don't think it is right, skip it for now.
There’s not really anything else I can think of doing with it. My ears can’t do earrings in that size plus I don’t care for lots of money in jewelry I can’t see while I’m wearing. It’s too big to become side stone (explored that option when I had my 3.3 ct). But it’s smaller than I’d want for a center stone. I don’t want to do a cuff bangle - I’d prefer a tennis bracelet. I hate it as a necklace.
It’s been sitting around unused and unloved. The 5 stone was my solution - sizable for a 5 stone with lots of coverage. But the wax model was a no go and I think I’d prefer it all little smaller if we were continuing down that route.
When we bought it I figured I’d just trade it in but Zoara went under before I could do that.
Since there’s clearly nothing else I can think to do with it, I’ll pursue selling more seriously. I’ve contacted Grace about consigning it since I do like the idea of her handling everything.
Yes - too much money spent on resets for this one. Grace just got back me to so I’m sending it her way to for consignment.
Do you like cocktail rings ?
I'd just sit on it for a few months
you might just dream the perfect ring up and that's that
I’d prefer all my rings look like engagement type rings/ alternative engagement rings because I wear them all on my left ring finger. I oddly have come to hate the feeling of rings on other fingers.
But Grace thinks she can sell for an amount that would pretty much just get almost all my money back, so I’m not opposed to consigning.
