Hi!
I'm usually a lurker on this lovely site. I blame you all for my current obsession with diamonds. :)
I'm on the search for my perfect ring, boyfriend is letting me have WAY too much say in this because he knows I'm ridiculously picky.

This is the setting my heart is currently set on.

I know I want a princess stone. I've been intouch with someone at the site, and he says that a princess stone will work perfectly in this setting, and he's sent me one to look at. My total budget is about 5000, although I think it's a big flexible. So with that setting it leaves me about 3800 for the diamond. I'd like between .75 to 1.00, and I lean towards the warmer stones, but not quite yellow. I think i is probably the lowest I'll go.

So, on to my question (finally!!) these are the specs of the diamond he sent me to consider. Just from this, does it seem okay? Can you tell that from this information. What else should I ask for? I'd been looking at blue nile for diamonds too, but the website says that since1910 will only sell that setting with one of their own diamonds.

$3668 (Is this a fair price for this diamond?)

Do you have a link to the stone? Do you have pictures/Aset of the stone? Its really difficult (impossible) to tell
whether its a nice stone without seeing images of it.

Ya, basically it is a whatever that means as GIA does not grade the cut of a princess. Not enough information from a GIA grading report to say anything about the cut performance of this stone.

The very thick girdle means that the stone has extra weight that does not show up in the face up dimension of the stone, probably to get it over the 1 carat mark where there is a mark jump in $/carat of a diamond.
