Is this camera too clunky for travel?

The one I have is a Kodak. . .

Does this look to big for traveling around? I''ve used it before, but my DH has always been with me so I''m now thinking about safety a lot more. I found a camera that''d be $139 after a rebate that is smaller, has 8 mega pixels and is compact, but am not sure about buying it. My husband seems really indifferent about my trip and now I''m feeling more and more guilty about going and now I''ve spent money on new ugg boots, nice scarves/hats and a few other items, so those plus purchases plus trip entertainment/food/gifts are really going to add to all these costs.

We need a new camera, but I feel horrible blowing yet more money on another trip "must-have." Any thoughts on the Kodak?

If it fits in your bag and you don''t have to carry it around your neck, I''d say it is fine. Depends what you are comfortable slugging around.

It is on the large side.. look into the canon 570IS $200 and a kicken travel camera and purse size..
If you want even smaller look into the canon 870is and simular cameras.

I have a similar size camera that I just took all over Europe without a problem, but I carried a sling style backpack instead of a purse.

Okay, thanks. My husband and I do need a smaller camera, but I may end up waiting. My "free" trip is starting to add up too quickly. My poor husband who has to sit at home & take care of the kids while I wander Europe drinking fun new beers is probably mad I've been contemplating purchasing a camera on top of all else.
