Is this cut near super ideal? Worthy for an exchange?

@Kim N i just got notified that the estimated new shipping date is 2/12, and got charged the difference. So looks like this diamond has been secured. :))

I will post pics when I receive it.

Very exciting! Can't wait to see how you like it.

I got my ring today! It shipped out one day earlier so that was good. After wearing it for an hr I feel like I do see more color under more lighting conditions and to my biggest relief I can’t see the black inclusion under table at all with my naked eyes. The profile view is a lot prettier.:kiss2: It’s also a lot easier to capture color and fire in photos.

The only thing that’s been bothering me are the prongs... I don’t think they shortened it at all and it feels like it’s so bulky and covers a big part of the diamond, does it look all normal to you all?? The previous diamond has a diameter of 8.8 and this one is 8.6 so they probably just fold it over the diamond and that’s why the prongs appears longer and bulkier? Or am I being picky here?

But the good news about this exchange is that they got my ring size right this time for sure. I’ve requested 5.75 since the previous ring and it felt slightly bigger when I got it like size 6. I’ve called and chatted and was told it’s definitely a size 5.75. But this time I’m sure they resized it somehow cause the stamp inside the ring is all smudged and the size feels right.

This is great news. Congratulations!

Oh, that's wonderful that you like the performance more and can't see the inclusion with the naked eye. Also good that they fixed the ring size. I do see what you mean about the prongs. I would wear it around for a little longer, then contact BN if they still bother you after a while.

Congrats! It sounds like overall you're glad you switch to this one in the end. The prongs look ok to my untrained eyes, for what it's worth. Maybe not super fine like something from Victor Canera, but not absolute blobs like some disasters other posters have shared.

I just really want to thank EVERYONE who has helped me through this upgrade. ::) If it weren’t for you all, especially @LLJsmom i probably would have just settled with the last one. Now I know for a fact I like these diamonds better. This is the diamond that will be accompanying me for the next X years, I won’t be getting ASET images because I want my chase to end here (until next time).

As for the prongs, BN won’t be able to make them thinner or less obvious I have already asked previously. They insist it won’t be durable. So I just have to live with it for now and maybe switch it out when I come across one that I like in the future.

I’m glad you found a stone that you love! I wonder if a local jeweler could file the prongs a bit shorter for you? They don’t look bad to me but if they still bother you after a while, you might look into that.

Congratulations!!!! I sincerely think that this one is better than the last one!!! Truly!!! Glad you make the call to exchange it... its proven that the experience of the members in this forum is on spot... I remember when you got the first stone some experienced members are against it... really really happy for you!!! This one is a keeper!!

as for the prongs/setting its an easier problem to fix than “stuck with $30-40k diamond that you don’t like”

Yay! I'm so glad it worked out! And ditto @munchee - fixing a prong/setting will be far easier than a "I don't think I really like it" diamond.

Thank you! I will keep that in mind but I think eventually I might get used to it ::)

Thank you all! I’m loving this diamond more and more, especially all the colorful flashes! But DSS is real! :twirl: I don’t know if it’s possible to see 0.2mm difference in diameter especially without comparing side by side. Or is it just my mind playing tricks on me lol:lol: I guess this bit of trade off is worth it for a more colorful diamond.
@munchee When will you get your ring back?? I can’t wait to see it!!

I hope I’m getting it end of month or maybe early March... this whole journey is taking so much time in our life :lol-2:
Bout DSS, that’s why I Halo-ed my ring so I don’t get that DSS too much  I think it’ll give me a really good finger coverage. I was not a Halo person, but I think I changed:lol-2: I love my ering setting which have pear sides and pave, was thinking about getting the same setting if I didn’t get the Emilya, but its too weird having 2 exact same ring style:lol:
Maybe you can consider 3stones/halo if the DSS getting worse?

That much money is too much for “I don’t think I like it” :D
