Is this setting too big for my stone?

So back in May, I purchased this Stuller setting and tried it out for a very short while. I quickly reset it bc I felt like the metal halo and underside, due to the excess metal (this is my theory) was reflecting on to my diamond and making it appear dark. Does my theory make sense? I love the setting bc it’s like a halo but let’s the stone take center stage so I kind of want to know if I’m seeing things, lol or if it’s true that the bezel/halo/ridge is reflecting into my stone and darkening it.

Not sure but my guess is because the metal halo is flat that it gives a different appearance. Your Emilya halo is set at an angle which compliments the stone better IMO.

I don’t know if the metal halo is making the diamond appear darker. I much prefer your diamond with a diamond halo, this feels a bit mismatched IMO.

Not sure what you mean exactly by "too big" but looks like a big air-gap in the pic... ?
