I picked up my dress today.

Sadly, I went by myself. All my bridesmaids have gone home for the holidays. My FI and I leave tomorrow.

I had the salesgirl take some photos, but they''re not the best. I''m excited about my dress, it''s lovely!! I''m a little sad at how BIG it is. I was between two sizes and the saleswoman talked me into going for the larger size. I''m wondering if I could have avoided alterations by going with the smaller size. Ah, what are you going to do... maybe if I had breasts it would look a little better.

I LOVE the color on me, the diamond white looks so much better on my Italian skin than the white did.

the back is absolutely gorgeous!!! my finalist dress that i ended up not picking had a lacy see through train and that was my favorite part, so obviously i love yours too! also, i wouldn''t worry about alteration costs. my dress was ordered 2 sizes too big and it was only $35. have you picked your veil out yet?

MS, it''s really really big in the bust area.
Maybe she could have laced it tighter? But I felt like I could see down to my belly button.
Relooking at the picture of the back it looks like a pretty good fit, actually, except for the lack of BREASTS.
Now my problem is WHAT DO I DO with it? I''ve got until July. Will it be safe in my closet? Our house is so full of dog hair and dust!
I wish that I had more pictures!

At first I wasn''t going to wear a veil. Our wedding is going to be outdoors in a beachy area. But then I saw some pictures of veils, and some pictures of outdoor weddings with the veil blowing in the wind, and lmurden posted her GORGEOUS veil that she got on ebay, and now I think I really want one. I guess that I can start looking now hee hee, love to shop!

definetly try the veils on to see how you feel about them, but don''t dismiss the no veil thing. i didn''t wear one, i just had a tiny tiara, and i got soooo many compliments. if your hair is long and you like wearing it down, i think it looks really pretty to not cover it up (but i''m probably biased since that''s what i did Ü).

Tybee - I would suggest buying one of those heavy duty dress bags; I got mine at David''s Bridal for only $10. It''s really nice for storage and transportation.

I''m pretty sure your dress will be fine in a bag/sheet in your closet if you keep the closet doors shut. We have cats so I was anal about where to put my dresses too, which ended up being the spare bedroom closet that never gets used. The animals never have a chance to sneak in there.

are you planning on shortening the dress? Can I ask about how you would alter the dress to keep all the lace along the bottom? My dress had no lace, and so I have sort of always wondered how that gets altered. Does the whole lace get shortened at the waistline?

Tybee, it really is beautiful!!
I know, pain in the butt about alterations, but it is better to have it be bigger than to have risked it...Is it just the bust or all over? I think it is hard to find a perfect fit anyway. When I had a super huge BM dress I was complaining to my seamstress and she was like well, regardless of how much we're taking in or taking up, its one price...so it didn't save me any $$ because either way I would've at least needed something taken in...hard to avoid when my bust goes for a size 6 and your hips go for a size 12 in gowns haha.
But you really do look so beautiful, you'll be stunning at your wedding

Your dress is gorgeous, I love the color on you & it looks like a great fit to me. You're so tiny! It doesn't look like it needs a lot of alterations from your pics, but it also doesn't look like it could be laced much tighter either.

ahhhh, just get the chicken cutlet things haha. That''s what I plan to do!!! I like being flat, but there are occasions where boobs would just make the outfit, so just pick up a pair ; )

Plus, buying the dress large is prob smart, just in case. It''s easier to have it altered down to fit you exactly than altered up if god forbid you had gained ten pounds. I plan on buying my dress about 1 sz big a year to 6 months before the wedding (I''m an obessive planner) just in case I happen to gain weight before the big day.
