I''m getting married next year, but I wanted to start dress shopping early in case I couldn''t find anything!

Today, I tried on Maggie Sottero''s Rosemary Leigh. I wasn''t expecting to, but I fell in love! The gown is gorgeous - its brand new for the Fall 06 line.

Wow, that is so pretty.

I like this dress because it is a bit different from all the strapless ones every bride is wearing. Not to say anything wrong with that, this is just a departure.

No pics of me in it yet, because none of the bridal shops around here will let you take photos unless you''re purchasing the gown from them. I''m ordering through an online company (very reputable - half a dozen of my friends have used her!), so there will be no pics of me for a while!

I tried to sneak some today (baaaad Nikki

), but they came out too dark and blurry because I was afraid to use the flash!


And Ann - I LOVE that its different, yet very traditional. And I can wear my gown in church with no guilty conscience!

You mentioned that you know of a reputable online company, would you mind sharing the web address. I''m from Canada and as you know we are so limited to what we can and cannot have that it would be wonderful if I could shop online when time comes. (touch wood!) I''m really short and chub so your dress will probably not look great on me but I would love to browse the website for alternatives.

Shiny, it is gorgeous! So elegant.

Don't you hate it when bridal salons won't let you take pictures? My mom and best friends live in different states so I'm left to go alone. You'd think they'd take pity on me and allow me a few shots, but no. I'm obviously going to run to a dressmaker with my digital pics and have it made. Hello! Pictures of most dresses are already online.

Too bad for them, though...I won't buy a dress until I can see a picture of myself in it.

Ugh.

Thanks everyone! I really love it - and I''m trying to justify spending the $$$... it retails for $1040, but the online company can get it for $850...still more than I wanted to spend though!

Shiny, that dress is absolutely lovely! I''m not usually a big fan of sleeves on wedding dresses (anything bigger than a cap sleeve, I mean) because I feel they tend to make the dress look so heavy and uncomfortable, but those are just so pretty and light!! Really gorgeous -- congrats on finding THE ONE!

Shiny- I actually just tried on a dress nearly identical to that (sleeves and all, except it buttoned in back) and it was THE most flattering one I have tried on. That is GORGEOUS!!!
