Sooooo ages ago I started a thread going on and on about finding a jade cab for a ring!

I had a lot of help from the lovely jade gurus on here and learnt SO MUCH along the way. You know who you are *huggles*

Basically after a period of consulting them on this and that, buying a few pair of jade earrings and necklaces I kinda got to the point where I felt like I wasn't going to be massively ripped off.

BUT I wasn't sure how committed I was to getting cab ring. I wasn't sure if I was into the look after trying a few on in this weird stall in Singapore outside Tangs. I still surfed my trusty Facebook lady's site for Jade every night though.

Today I found it! It is NOT the best cab ever, neither does it have all the qualities that are ideal in jade. However the price, look, quality, feel is very much in line with what *I* want for now so I went ahead and got it after bugging Jasmine for like a billion pics and videos.

I basically wanted a ring that I love, that was reasonably priced so I could get a taster in what wearing a jade cab was like. I am still not ready to go all out yet so I think this is perfect for now.

I saw this photo and vid and fell in love

But I asked for a pic in natural sunlight and got this which looked a bit dark

So I asked for more videos! This one I asked her to make with a lighter piece of jade so I can contemplate how dark it is.

This one I asked her to make in a darker place under artificial light

I decided while it was darker I was in love with it! So I bought it!

Will post pics when I get it!

Really beautiful! I love the deep green color and the design of the setting is lovely. I know you’ve wanted one for such a long time. It’s great that you found one that you love so that you can start wearing it ! It can be such a journey finding jade, which makes it all the better when one finally does. Congratulations!

Thanks @Bluegemz

I still remember wandering into the brick and mortar stores in Chinatown and being quoted everything from $4,000 to $20,000 AUD and feeling utterly dazed. Pink Bandit said to me "You should give this up, it could be any price."

I was so overwhelmed!

Thanks to all you ladies on here I can finally buy something and actually understand the choices I make. I am so grateful for that.

Also best part about this!!!! Lil Sis LOVES LOVES LOVES the ring! She contemplated buying it for herself but decided she needs a yellow stone first.

Anyways should I ever change my jade priorities it will make a lovely present for her and I don't have to worry about it going to waste!

Lovely. Her stuff will look like what it is on the video. You must be so happy :)

This is so beautiful! I love jade.

It is so nice to shop with such reassurance as that! You can feel good about shopping. Congratulations on finally finding your jade cab!

My goodness it looks beautiful! Really lovely setting too!

Gorgeous! It is truly a stunner!
I think I'm just beginning to understand the intricacies of buying a jade piece. It sounds like it was quite the process. Well done.

Wow, your jade cab is so beautiful! :kiss2: Congrats on finally finding it after a year-long search!
My chrysoprase pendant also turns darker under natural sunlight but is a lighter tone indoors. I think of the color shift as adding to the "personality" of the stone and an indication of the stone's naturalness.

Congrats!! I followed your thread for ages and learned along with you. Our jade ladies are awesome! The ring is gorgeous and I'm jealous!

Thanks guys!!!!!

I AM SO EXCITED!!!!!!!!

I was quoted $4000 AUD ($2,800 usd now since our aussie dollar has dropped) for a similar tone ring that was less translucent looking at one of the B&M stores in Sydney Chinatown waaay back in the old jade thread so I am pretty thrilled with this find!

All I ever wanted was to find something that I wanted and reasonably understand what I'm getting.

So very excited that you finally found "the" ring and at a "fabulous" price too...must feel like hitting the jackpot (although not last night's Mega Millions :p ). Can't wait to see it on your hand!

Congrats. It looks lovely.

Can you tell us more about the size, carat weight and a little more about this jade piece you selected. The color is fabulous! So happy for you!

The stone is 9*8*3.5 (thickness) mm

I'll post the carat weight when I get the memo that comes with it! I didn't even ask for carat weight as thickness and size was good for me!

It was priced below $1000 if that helps as it is a darker green and not a high domed cab.

Great price and it looks good! Pls share lots of pics when you get it.

@mellowyellowgirl I think that taking the time to fully understand jade quality is absolutely the right way to do it. It's only when you are in a position to determine the quality of a piece that you can evaluate its value. You took your time, and and knew enough to get yourself a great deal; congratulations!!!

haha Vendor sent me another video after resizing and in this one the colour is sublime! I am telling myself to temper my expectations and that it is most likely NOT this colour. I'm going to assume it will be the worse case colour of the darker shot I posted above (which I still like very much hence I bought the ring anyway).

Colour is so hard to judge and in this case I feel the vendor has been 100% honest and NOT trying to tamper with the colours at all.

I think the color should be ok. Transluscency also keeps the price down so you can expect good color with lower transluscency.

Beauti ful! I want one someday!

IT'S HERE AND I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OMG I love it sooooo much!!!! It's so much more beautiful than the $4000 AUD one I looked at a year ago!

@Burmesedaze thank you for finding the Facebook jade lady!!!!!!!!!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVEEEEEEEE IT!!!!!

It is really hard to photograph though so I would say her last video with the two rings is the most accurate. It is probably 2 shades lighter than what you are seeing in my pics. For some reason as soon as I point my camera at it, through the camera footage it looks 2 shades darker.

The grain is very fine (in my eyes). It certainly has a completely different texture to my beads which you can see stuff in. This is really uniform, almost fake looking.

The only other comment I need to make is watch out for their resizing. I asked for it to be resized to a US6 (16.5mm) and it feels bigger than that. It still fits me fine (I have different sizes fingers on each hand that get bigger or smaller depending on weather) but Lil Sis with her tiny fingers is not going to be able to wear it (even on her biggest finger) so I am a bit bummed about that. But that is the only complaint!

I love the colour! And that translucency! A great piece at an even greater price.

Amazing, deep, beautiful green with lovely texture and water! Congratulations!

Thanks so much @ChaiK and @Bluegemz

I remember there wasn't much about jade on Pricescope to begin with but gradually as many jade lovers like yourself starting buying and talking about jade, it's given me the confidence to give it a go.

I'll admit your purchases from FB lady definitely boosted my confidence to finally buy a ring!

It's super nice! I'm in love. It's been a long journey and you have won the prize!
