Who is going?

Greg and I want to try to make it down for the weekend (4-6?) if possible...we may not be able to get into the show but we LOVE Vegas. And maybe I can steal a badge to view all the pretty baubles.

Well we missed last year and meeting the gang, and since then I have been very intrigued.

Plus we adore Vegas...all the excellent (expensive!) food and I would like to see Mystere this time around.

We will be coming off the heels of our honeymoon (about 2 weeks earlier) but a weekend trip would be doable.

BTW....I just remembered the misery I went through last year wearing uncomfortable shoes. This year I am wearing my tennis shoes w/ my business attire...I don't care what people think !!!! I can not and will not go through that pain again !!!

Denise

Nike makes an all black shoe in a young person's size...if you have small feet, say size 7 or under, you could probably find a pair...I have a pair, you can't even see the Nike swoosh mark!

Aerosoles!! They have some cute and somewhat trendy looking shoes, affordable and super comfy. Check it out before the next show Denise!

Yeah, aerosoles are comfortable. Easy Spirit makes some comfy shoes. And, if you want to step up to the plate, Cole Haan makes a really comfy cool line that uses the Nike air soles w/ regular looking shoes. Aigner makes a line called "Easentials".

Also, consider Gelin like a felon. Dr. Shoals makes some really great inserts.

Bump on JCK...anyone else planning on going?

Denise...sounds good! Now I just have to convince Greg that we need another mini-vaca a week and a half after we get back from the honeymoon.

He seemed receptive when I mentioned it, we LOVE Vegas.

I wanted to go this year, but am not sure yet..the rooms are pretty much gone already - busy week in Vegas. Plus, they like to jack up the prices, too. It would be fun to see some PS people, though.

I'd like to go if I could get into the Show, but regular folk can't.

I'm curious, Mara, does the GIA training you've been doing allow you to get a pass to get into the Show?

CG..I still found rooms online at most of the larger hotels when I looked yesterday.

PQ...No I don't think I could get into the show. However, if some people were going from here like they did last year...Greg and I LOVE Vegas and welcome any opportunity to spend a weekend there. It helps that it's only about an hour plane flight too.

I remember someone from vegas posting one time about the show stating they could not get in and what was available for the public to see was the outer stalls which were mainly beads and semi-precious stones.

No, you need trade credentials, and a couple of GIA courses don't qualify.

Knowledge is not an issue. A jewelry store clerk who knows next to nothing could get in if s/he was there on behalf of their employer. You folks who know much more would be excluded. That's just how it is.

I could get in, but I'm not going.
